Snoop Dogg The Man
Revisado: 12-03-23
I was truly impressed by the level of Snoop Doggs transparency and respect with reference to others in his industry who inspired him, his willingness to challenge himself professionally by his nonconformity and ongoing love of family plus fan base.
As one who is not a die hard fan of any type of hip hop largely due to a lack of understanding of it as a music genre, his story, Snoop Dogg story, has given me a new appreciation of hip hop.

Historia
The year 2020 brought a renewed awareness to the deep-rootedness of racism and white supremacy in every facet of American life. Until now, however, there has yet to be a book published for a general audience from the perspective of Black scholars and experts proposing ideas from a policy-oriented standpoint. The Black Agenda: Bold Solutions for a Broken System features Black voices across economics, education, health, climate, and technology, speaking to the question "What's next?" as it pertains to centering Black people in policy matters in our country.

EYE OPENING
Revisado: 10-12-22
As a Black man now in his sixties this book was more than informative, it was very enlightening as to how far African-Americans have, the progress made living under Americanized systems from slavery to our present that intentionally are designed to treat and cause society to view us as less than and how we must go in our fight to level the playing field socially, economically as citizens.

A SPIRITUAL VOID FILLER
Revisado: 02-25-22
This book filled in more spaces in my journey as an African-American man than highlight in this review ranging from the various ways I’ve learned to worship as child to my pathways of walking out my Christianity as an adult. It’s given me a type of mental and spiritual peace that allows to accept the many approaches to God that we as Black people have in a nonjudgmental way while continually developing my faith walk.

We are surrounded by toxic stories and bad cultural thinking. We’re held back by incomplete theology. But does it have to be like that? Is frustration the end of the story? In the face of confusion and injustice, we can lose sight of our true narrative - the one that started in a garden and wants to make our real lives better today. Activist and recording artist Sho Baraka wrestles deeply and honestly with these questions, gives you permission to do the same, and shows a hard-earned path to creative change. With Sho, you’ll engage with art, justice, and history.

Spiritual Medicine For My Soul
Revisado: 01-10-22
As an African-American man reared in a small town worship culture, where I learned little about a the Bible as it truly related to young creative identity this book really spoke to me because in my adult life I got in involved with conservative Christianity in various forms which further kept in an spiritual identity crisis. This book has one of several that I’ve completed over the last year that has sparked creative growth in my spiritual creative identity and freed more of thinking so that I’m more able to share my gifts of writing and speaking. Historia
Experience a bold take on this classic autobiography as it’s performed by Oscar-nominated Laurence Fishburne. In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN...
Revisado: 03-25-21
If only I had known this version of Malcolm X story when I began my spiritual journey from Americanize Christianity in the African-American church to the form practiced by Jehovah Witnesses for over 30 years to my final time spent with American evangelicals in their churches then my journey to a more spiritual life than ritualistic lifestyle like he broke from. His story as told in this book gives me more courage to speak, write and engage directly with people about issues related to race relations and our common humanity which I believe
was at the core of Malcolms message when he returned from Mecca.
This book has truly inspired me in my work as an influencer.

A Gallup study found that 50 percent of resigning employees did so "to get away from their manager". The ones who don't quit become disengaged, creating a negative work environment costing US companies billions in lost productivity, each year. Leaders in the 21st century need to understand that technical skills are not enough to be an effective manager. They need to able to demonstrate tactical empathy to create a more productive environment.
