Historia
Composed toward the end of the first millennium, Beowulf is the elegiac narrative of the adventures of Beowulf, a Scandinavian hero who saves the Danes from the seemingly invincible monster Grendel and, later, from Grendel's mother. He then returns to his own country and dies in old age in a vivid fight against a dragon. The poem is about encountering the monstrous, defeating it, and then having to live on in the exhausted aftermath.

nice background
Revisado: 11-14-24
is it Mass effect fan this was interesting in the regard of learning some backstory to some of the major characters that you interact with but unfortunately the story was not very gripping or intriguing is more like just being told facts about these characters well the narrator was okay fortunately he made everything kind of bland and flat so it may not have helped as well so overall it's okay.

strange but intriguing
Revisado: 09-05-24
well I usually like older stories and ways of writing this one unfortunately escaped me More often than I could understand. The overall feel was interesting but the story itself was a bit confusing and disjointed feeling, as opposed it takes an older soul than me to understand such old literature but still pleasant enough.

Good information but lots of weeds
Revisado: 08-28-24
so well it gives you lots of good information and backstory about all these characters that you sure about from the original series and how things get started My complaint's unfortunately lie with the overdone fluff and repetitive ness of reiterating what has already happened in the book itself just a chapter before they unfortunately like to like really make sure you know exactly what happened word for word that you just read in the previous chapter The narrator Scott brick does a fine job, nothing against him I just honestly prefer the original readers of the original dune books but if you can get through all the extra weeds and fluff that they squish into the book there is some cool and interesting prequel information to get in this book.

Felt like the earlier works
Revisado: 11-03-23
I enjoyed this one for the really interesting characters and story that it brought felt more like it was going back to the original two Dune books as far as style and things which I enjoyed the weird sexual stuff he put in there though could have been left out it was unnecessary the ending as with most big epics felt a little weird and disjointed didn't seem to explain too much but all in all for a journey it was fun.

Historia
More than 3,000 years have passed since the first events recorded in Dune. Only one link survives with those tumultuous times: the grotesque figure of Leto Atreides, son of the prophet Paul Muad'Dib, and now the virtually immortal God Emperor of Dune. He alone understands the future, and he knows with a terrible certainty that the evolution of his race is at an end unless he can breed new qualities into his species.

Not much of a continuation.
Revisado: 09-29-23
I've enjoyed books one through three so far, but this one seems disjointed and very convoluted for the points they were trying to get across. unfortunately so far it is my least favorite out of all the original Dune series books by Frank Herbert, but as a whole it's still at least worth a read or listen if you want to know all the details but all in all for me personally it just felt like a lot of pointless fluff unlike the previous books.

loved the story and even the reading, my only complaint is it did not stick to dramatized voice over or one reader, it bounces between the two seemingly random.
