I loved this book. The writing was great—Jae did a beautiful job with character development. I enjoyed the plot—the ice queen trope isn’t always my thing, but it sure was for this one. The chemistry between the two MCs was phenomenal. Lori Prince did a gorgeous job with the narration—her voice was perfect for these two.

Good story, terrible narrator

I am a huge fan of Georgia Beers, and I love all of her books. This story line was great, hire someone to be your gf for Christmas and then bam, connection. But the narration was terrible. It felt like an AI, or Siri was reading to me. Very robotic. Such a let down.

Awful narration

While the story was good, I couldn’t get past the narrator. If they wanted to have Spanish words and names, they should have prepped the narrator. Tia, (aunt) was pronounced T-I-A, like spelling out the letters. And the main character’s last name, Ruiz, was pronounced terribly. I don’t speak Spanish, but I live in Los Angeles, and listening to the narrator murder the Spanish pronunciations killed the book for me.

Excellent book and performance

First time listening/reading anything by Kristen Zimmer, and I loved it. The narrator really did an excellent job with the characters. Voices and attitudes were spot on and made the story really pop. Looking forward to another Zimmer book!

Uncovering the mystery, but slowly.

It was good overall, but very slow. Took awhile to get interested but was good. Ending was “eh”

I’m really digging both TB Markinson and Miranda MacLeod separately, and together this book is lovely. Don’t look for the hot steamy sex scenes, but more for a cute love story. Loved the characters.

Love Georgia Beers, hated the narrator

I had high hopes for this latest book, but I could not stand the narrator. I honestly had trouble even finishing it. I’m sure the characters would have been more believable, and “real” but the narrator did not do them justice.
Will have to read the book myself.

A must read

While I don't usually enjoy Sci-Fi, this was an excellent read. The characters were lovely, and while there was an air of mystery, it was easy to see how the story would unfold, and how the characters would grow.
Really enjoyed the dynamic between the two.

So this is a very steamy, very graphic erotic work. Sometimes a little vulgar but also just naughty. The narration sometimes was a bit much,but the further into the book her low sultry tone made more sense. If you are looking for 13 hours of being constantly aroused then this is for you.
