Historia
Harriet and David Lovatt, parents of four children, have created an idyll of domestic bliss in defiance of the social trends of late 1960s England. While around them crime and unrest surge, the Lovatts are certain that their old-fashioned contentment can protect them from the world outside - until the birth of their fifth baby. Gruesomely goblin-like in appearance, insatiably hungry, abnormally strong and violent, Ben has nothing innocent or infant-like about him.

Great story!
Revisado: 12-14-16
Dark & surreal in the vein of The Stepford Wives. Perfection goes very wrong. Also a great commentary on the stories we all tell ourselves.

Historia
From the best-selling author of Public Enemies and The Big Rich, an explosive account of the decade-long battle between the FBI and the homegrown revolutionary movements of the 1970s. The FBI combated these groups and others as nodes in a single revolutionary underground, dedicated to the violent overthrow of the American government. The FBI’s response to the leftist revolutionary counterculture has not been treated kindly by history, and in hindsight many of its efforts seem almost comically ineffectual, if not criminal in themselves.

Amazing how so many bombings got so little attention
Revisado: 05-01-16
Well narrated! A good, full history of pre-9/11 terrorism in the US. The public reaction to the endless bombings is quite interesting. Begs the question what would citizens and the 24hr news stations do if it happened today?

Great story, great narration by Claire Danes

This story is still timely, particularly in light of current political and world events! Great.

Historia
Elisabeth Elo's debut novel introduces Pirio Kasparov, a Boston-bred tough-talking girl with an acerbic wit and a moral compass that points due north. When the fishing boat Pirio is on is rammed by a freighter, she finds herself abandoned in the North Atlantic. Somehow she survives nearly four hours in the water before being rescued by the Coast Guard. But her fisherman friend Ned, the boat's owner, is not so lucky.

Audible narration not recommended.
Revisado: 02-21-16
Being from Massachusetts, can say the author nailed the New England characters. Unfortunately, Audible's narrator read most of the frequent expletives as angry dialogue instead of as sarcasm and wit. Also, the story line goes from ok to really ridiculous so I am unlikely to recommend it.

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Great approach to story telling...
Revisado: 02-20-16
The approach used to tell the story is great and the characters & story are quite worthwhile. Just seems it went on a bit longer than needed, veering into a soap-opera feeling. If you are a fan of 'less is more' you may feel the same way. Still recommending it!
