Historia
Drawing on new research, including the diaries, memoirs, and personal letters of both Lenin and his friends, Victor Sebestyen's unique biography - the first in English in nearly two decades - is not only a political examination of one of the most important historical figures of the 20th century but a portrait of Lenin the man. Unexpectedly, Lenin was someone who loved nature, hunting, and fishing and could identify hundreds of species of plants, a despotic ruler whose closest ties and friendships were with women.

Chose this book because I wanted to learn about a key figure of a current powerful nation. Russia has not been viewed favorable in my experience, growing up in the western part of the world. If I take this book at face value, it is difficult to understand and comprehend the culture of a country that allows so few people to hold that much power over life. not sure what effect this book will have on me in the short and far future.

Historia
Discovered in the attic in which she spent the last years of her life, Anne Frank’s remarkable diary has since become a world classic - a powerful reminder of the horrors of war and an eloquent testament to the human spirit. In 1942, with Nazis occupying Holland, a 13-year-old Jewish girl and her family fled their home in Amsterdam and went into hiding. For the next two years, until their whereabouts were betrayed to the Gestapo, they and another family lived cloistered in the “Secret Annex” of an old office building.

difficult to heard.
Revisado: 08-26-21
It make me so sad to hear this event in someone's life. we are so removed from what happen in the time period, it makes it difficult to think anything of the horror is possible. humanity is at it's worst when fear and anger take root in there heart. anne had so much potential. I will like never to think of this again. that would be a mistake on my part. thank you anne
