It was alright
Revisado: 09-29-24
I assume some people might find this interesting. It wasn't terrible. It was just okay. Predictable and left me wanting a real ending, but the characters are well written. A little unrealistic in their "goodness" and naivety.

Absolutely incredible! One of the my favorite reads all year.
Revisado: 09-19-24
This is the most twisted, dark, well thought out, heart- wrenching story about a man who has so much empathy in a time that empathy no longer exists. And the depths of the characters! Fascinating in it's macabre imagery. I actually cried at times. I laughed so much at the end and then was horrified that I was laughing. READ THIS. If you’re unsure, this is your promise it'll be worth it. The last lines of this book will stay with me forever!!!

Historia
On the night of her high school graduation, a young woman follows her older sister Debbie to Salvation, a Los Angeles bar patronized by energy healers, aspiring actors, and all-around misfits. After the two share a bag of unidentified pills, the evening turns into a haze of sensual and risky interactions—nothing unusual for two sisters bound in an incredibly toxic relationship. Our unnamed narrator has always been under the spell of the alluring and rebellious Debbie and, despite her own hesitations, she has always said yes to nights like these. That is, until Debbie disappears.

The beginning of the book draws you in....the end puts you to sleep
Revisado: 09-19-24
This has such an incredible start! So much potential, so we'll written. At some point though it's like a different author jumped in, and the ending was a chore to finish. An obsession with the holocaust that didn't tie into the story well, and some stuff was so weird that I wasn't sure it bbebelonged in the book...or any book. Don't waste your credits.

Nobody has a “normal” family, but Vesper Wright’s is truly...something else. Vesper left home at eighteen and never looked back—mostly because she was told that leaving the staunchly religious community she grew up in meant she couldn’t return. But then an envelope arrives on her doorstep.

This is a book I will never forget
Revisado: 06-05-24
It has a bit of an awkward, slow-ish start, but hold on, because if you like odd, dark, smart, and well-written, you've found the right novel. I am so in love with the language she uses. I thought that her last book was amazing, but this topped it. Definitely. The jellyflowers will be floating around my mind for years to come.

A love story told by a psychopath
Revisado: 04-13-24
I was expecting a mediocre thriller to pass the time, and what I got was a complete surprise! A well written, twisted love story that kept me absolutely captivated andthen wishing for more. The humor was dark, and it fit the book perfectly, and the story was completely unpredictable, which made me never want to put it down. It's not the type of book I'd usually give a 5 star rating, but seriously, it was that good. I don't know about anyone else, but I grew a bit attached to "Paul" the protagonist....or antagonist depending on how you decided to read the story. Definitely, definitely give this book a chance!

The book was good. A little predictable at times, and a little unbelievable at others, but if you have nothing else to read, and ypu want something to distract yourself, this is good enough.
