Historia
Rumpled and ragged was not how architect Ari James envisioned kicking off her first day at a new firm. And few things can top the horror of her new—and extremely hot—colleague walking in on her at the worst moment ever. Learning that she’ll be working with him on the project that’s supposed to get her career back on top makes it harder than ever to focus on her big comeback.

This was a good listen
Revisado: 08-09-23
I liked the story but it was extremely predictable. The title built up to the exact ending I could have guessed in an eyes rolling yawn. The characters were predictable and everything about their lives and actions were predictable. From the bbw who was so-called confident to the handsome rich hunk, their jobs as black Architects right up to the classless punch and terminal scene. Most of which we see in every movie we’ve ever seen.

Historia
It is 1872, and a series of gruesome murders is the talk of London. Mycroft Holmes - now 26 and a force to be reckoned with at the War Office - has no interest in the killings; however his brother Sherlock has developed a distasteful fascination for the macabre to the detriment of his studies, much to Mycroft's frustration. When a ship carrying cargo belonging to Mycroft's best friend Cyrus Douglas runs aground, Mycroft persuades Sherlock to serve as a tutor at the orphanage that Douglas runs as a charity, so that Douglas might travel to see what can be salvaged.

Historia
Eric Jerome Dickey strides boldly over the minefield that is modern marriage. The central couple's biggest challenge is timing: He works days; she works nights. Instead of growing together, they're rapidly drifting apart, coexisting on stolen phone calls from work, punctuated by occasional bedroom encounters that leave them both feeling even emptier and more alone. When she finds out about his affair - and starts her own - the delicate fabric of their marriage is torn irrevocably asunder. Or is it?

Good Read
Revisado: 02-24-23
I liked the way this book brilliantly weaves its way through the storyline while adding African culture into it. I didn’t like the ending tho. The two people drawn to each other all this time finally have a chance to be together and the girl decides not to take him with her on her journey to see her parents when they’ve been together for everything else? This is the typical push in society now to separate love of a man and woman instead of being together. Total opposite of the strength of a relationship. Showing the power of a woman (which was her goal) isn’t always separating from a man. Otherwise I loved it! I recommend reading the 1st book before this one.

If there’s any one thing Pierre and Logan have in common, it’s their ability to invite snap judgements based on shallow views of who they are. Logan is the privileged only daughter of a respected family whose legacy runs long and deep. Pierre is the moody, orphaned son of big screen royalty who couldn’t possibly live up to the prestige of his pedigree. Or maybe not.

Loved this story!!!
Revisado: 08-23-22
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it won’t be the last. This is intellectually and intelligently written. The feelings that came through each character weren’t over done (or under) like so may other authors. These characters were real and relatable. The story was interesting and I actually cared about them (yes, I’m a tough reader lol). I appreciated the black characters without them being ghetto or unbelievably rich. I used Chpt 16 @ 6:00 to explain ‘me’ to him. He totally got it! Well written.
