Great Book on how to deal with Narcissists

I like how this book goes over what it's like to be an empath. It also gives practical advice on how to deal with different types of narcissists in your life. I'm used to books focusing on romantic relationships only. It is helpful to think about friendships, family, and how to cope with people at work. Stockholm Cinderella

This book had me hooked the first time I listened to it. It is really dark and has a number of twists and turns. If you're on the fence about whether or not this book is for you, just get it, unless content warnings are for you. Without giving too much away, there is a romantic element to this book that gives off a bit of a Cinderella vibe to me. I totally dug it and was creeped out at the same time. Such a thriller! Ultimate is Relative

This book included a lot of ways to budget and save money on the wedding. I appreciated the statistics and some of the information was helpful for helping me plan my wedding. There was a lot of information that I didn't need, as well as a lot of information that seemed like common sense to me. Did the book need to be as long as it was to get the info I needed? Burnout

This is the story of millenials from a number of walks of lives who are burnt out. It was interesting to hear of their stories in a podcast sort of format and hear a few statistics thrown in. This isn't the book to hear about what burnout really is or to look for solutions to burnout. It is a great way to commiserate with other millenials.

Not a Typical Love Story

This was a great, lighthearted read without being fluffy. I was immediately sucked in. I had no issues finishing this book, even though I can dabble in many books at one time. I liked that there was a sense of adventure, as well as a mild love element to the book. However, the title left me longing for more of a love element. This book easily could have been a series.

It did sound like there was background noise, and the narrator could use a new microphone or room to record in. This book was given to me for free at my request, and I provided this voluntary review.

Interesting Title

I found out about this book when I clicked on a random Ted talk by the author. He gave further info about what happened after the book ended. I've read books by Robert Hare and I plan to read Snakes in Suits next. I think this is a great supplemental book for people interested in psychopaths. I find it more entertaining than a great place to build up clinical knowledge on the subject.

Engaging and Encouraging

Compared to other books in this series, this one has a lot more cheerleading in it. The author also suffers with bpd, shares a little bit of her experience, and has her own book in addition to this one. Like other books in the series, this book quickly goes over what BPD is, as well as different coping skills for it. Awful Narrator

On a very positive note, I've looked a number of places for simple, straightforward info on the keto diet and how to get started. I've often found myself confused and overwhelmed. That was not the case with this book. This is a great source on what the keto diet is, the benefits, and how to get started. I could easily start prepping now. I only say prepping instead of get started, because the book recommends prepping as a way to keep the keto flu at bay.

On the other hand, this was the worst narrator I have ever heard on an audiobook. They must not have edited the audiobook, because she had trouble pronouncing the words "isn't," "scale," "weight," and other simple words. She even repeated one phrase three times. There were also many awkward pauses and stutters in the book. This is easily a 5 star book with any other narrator. Inspiring

I find Kristin's story inspiring. I'm also a therapist that's considering getting bariatric surgery. I bought this book, because I am having trouble making the decision. I love how Kristin doesn't downplay the emotional issues or psychological piece. I would see her as a client if she was in my area. She really helped me jump start my journey. I imagine this is a book that I may listen to again and again depending on which road I take in my journey.

A Little Mystery

As a therapist that works in a hospital, I enjoyed empathizing with Lissa's story and her perspective on things. I could relate to some of her interactions with staff in the hospital, given that people going through recovery can feel some kinda way when going through withdrawal and us staff are imperfect humans, after all! When Lissa enters the hospital again, the real mystery unfolds. This book was given to me for free at my request, and I provided this voluntary review.
