Historia
The year 1996 was the one that changed everything for Maggie Dawes. Sent away at 16 to live with an aunt she barely knew in Ocracoke, a remote village on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, she could think only of the friends and family she left behind...until she met Bryce Trickett, one of the few teenagers on the island. Handsome, genuine, and newly admitted to West Point, Bryce showed her how much there was to love about the wind-swept beach town - and introduced her to photography, a passion that would define the rest of her life. By 2019, Maggie is a renowned travel photographer.

Historia
Cassandra King was leading a quiet life as a professor, divorced "Sunday wife" of a preacher, and debut novelist when she met Pat Conroy. Their friendship bloomed into a tentative, long-distance relationship. Pat and Cassandra ultimately married, partly because Pat hated the commute from coastal South Carolina to her native Alabama. It was a union that would last 18 years, until the beloved literary icon’s death from pancreatic cancer in 2016. In this poignant, intimate memoir, the woman he called King Ray looks back at her love affair with a natural-born storyteller.

Touching, heartwarming with a bit of laugh out loud humor!
Revisado: 02-14-20
I have always enjoyed Pat Conroy books, but now I want to read the ones I missed and reread the ones I didn’t! Cassandra has a way of drawing you into the most private and compassionate moments of her life. As I listened, I had to glance to look at the passenger seat several time to make sure she wasn’t sitting there beside of me! Not only can she make you feel like her best friend, but several times I was laughing hysterically at her humor. I read the Sunday Wife and will read it again along with other books she has written. Like Pat, Cassandra is a natural storyteller... thank you for sharing your life with Pat! God Bless You!!!

Dorthea Benton Frank is one of my favorite authors and I have read and loved all of her books! Typically, I purchase the hard copy, but this time I listened on audible. The narration was spot on... the accent and the voice of Shannon McMannus drew me in! I felt like I knew these characters! The book was funny, touching, educational and most importantly enjoyable!!! One of my most favorites Dottie!💗💕. Thank you!

Historia
Tennessee, 1950: a time and place that straddles the past and present. Ivorie Walker is considered an old maid by the town (though she’s only in her early 30s), and she takes that label with good humor and a grain of salt. Ever since her parents passed away, she has hidden her loneliness behind a fierce independence and a claim of not needing anyone. But when she realizes that someone has been stealing vegetables from her garden - a feral, dirty-faced boy who disappears into the hills - something about him haunts Ivorie.
