Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Touching Memoir
Revisado: 05-12-23
Prince Harry confirms what we expected about the weak character of now, King Charles. Megan Markle comes off well as helping her husband navigate a different, new path to not be boxed into a gilded and unhappy adulthood. Rupert Murdoch, the owner of British tabloids and Fox News, remains worthy of our scorn and is the most vile of current practitioners of yellow journalism.

Historia
Ascending to the leadership role of US Attorney for the Southern District, which includes Manhattan and several counties to the north, is a capstone to any legal career: it entails guiding a team of the best lawyers in America in selecting and winning cases that often have global import. Geoffrey Berman was honored to be tapped for the job by Donald Trump in 2018. The manner in which Trump had dispatched his predecessor Preet Bharara was troubling, but the institution was fabled for its independence. Surely he could manage.

So Many Trump Scandals
Revisado: 02-27-23
Enough evidence exists in this book to put former Attorney General William Barr in prison for doing Trump’s dirty work for the rest of his life. We have an accounting of some of the corruption of his four years of malfeasance, but we may never see him on trial beyond his two impeachment.
It happened here and our Constitution and our democracy is gone. I remember Watergate and the Nixon years. The Trump years showed you could lie and Fox News would help Republicans get away with it. Rome has fallen.

Historia
Jerry Falwell Jr. is a prominent figure in the evangelical world whose support for presidential candidate Donald J. Trump helped secure Trump's Republican nomination in 2016. He captured headlines when it was revealed that he and his wife Becki had participated in a years-long bizarre sexual relationship with a pool attendant they met at the Fountainbleu Hotel in Miami Beach.

Exposed: Jerry Falwell, Jr. and Donald Trump
Revisado: 01-02-23
Book exposes Liberty University and its leaders as Christian hypocrites. At least two other boy toys seem to exist and back up the authors narrative. The couples personal trainer and the teenage friend of their children back up this sordid tale.
After watching the documentary on Hulu, the facts are detailed and the evidence is real. While some of the bisexual aspects seem to be closed over, the gay friendly hostel at the center of the business deal consummated confirms that Falwells are hypocritical of gay rights.
While the author’s story remains the same over the course of the scandal, the Falwells use Donald Trump’s playbook to lie and change their story to attack their accusers. Even a Vanity Fair article in January 2022 with their cooperation was aimed at poking holes in their narrative, but did nothing to absolve them off guilt.
Big time religion remains at the heart of their political influence and points to the luxurious lifestyles of the rich religious leaders, who do little to help the poor and suffering. It’s all about maintaining their tax free existence and raw political power.

In the years after World War II, Georgetown's leafy streets were home to an unlikely group of cold warriors: a coterie of affluent, well-educated, and well-connected civilians who helped steer American strategy from the Marshall Plan through McCarthyism, Vietnam, and the endgame of Watergate.

Historia
The transition from President Donald J. Trump to President Joseph R. Biden Jr. stands as one of the most dangerous periods in American history. But as number one internationally best-selling author Bob Woodward and acclaimed reporter Robert Costa reveal for the first time, it was far more than just a domestic political crisis. Woodward and Costa interviewed more than 200 people at the center of the turmoil, resulting in more than 6,000 pages of transcripts - and a spellbinding and definitive portrait of a nation on the brink.

Sources try to make themselves look good
Revisado: 10-04-21
A number of Republican powerbrokers around the worst President ever, Donald Trump, try to hide their complicity at his attempts to steal the 2020 election. Their failure to speak up at the time and go public only make them seem weak/lacking any morals.
The authors make it easy to know the many establishment Republicans that are sources for this less than truthful reporting. Some, like Sen. Lindsey Graham and Sen. Mike Lee, try to rewrite history. The people in his administration and Republican members of Congress try to distract Americans about the four years of dystopia. The reporting seems incomplete and rushed.
Investigations are being blocked by spineless Republicans in Congress (while Republicans had over 20 investigations of Benghazi and Hillary's emails), so we may never no the full extent of how close America came to a dictatorship. Reading this incomplete work of journalism makes you pessimistic about America’s future.

How the World Sees Trump
Revisado: 03-03-21
Americans took too long to realize that Donald Trump was totally unsuited to be President of the United States. The former ambassador to the U.S. from the United Kingdom writes a total indictment of the former president. If Trump were introspective or actually read books, he would understand why he was a complete failure.
Kim Darroch explains how the world perceived Trump and paints a devastating portrait of his time in Washington working with the Trump administration. Although the Audible edition would have been better with a professional actor reading it, the power of its narration comes through.
Unlike many of the Trump books that I have read, this book provides a personal narration and a view of world affairs that explains why it will be hard for America to regain the trust of allies and strike fear in its protractors. It provides evidence of why the relationship between the two allies is so uneven since post World War II.
If you love truth and facts, you will love this book. If you hate this book, you believe the poison spewed on the right-wing propaganda machine.

Revisado: 12-23-20
The book provides a template for what could happen in 2021, but probably not if the Republicans have their way. Roosevelt was an optimistic leader, the complete opposite of Donald Trump. He remains the greatest president of the 20th century.

History called on Harry Truman to unite the Western world against Soviet communism, but first he had to rally Republicans and Democrats behind America’s most dramatic foreign policy shift since George Washington delivered his farewell address. How did one of the least prepared presidents to walk into the Oval Office become one of its most successful?

Woodward, the number-one international bestselling author of Fear: Trump in the White House, has uncovered the precise moment the president was warned that the Covid-19 epidemic would be the biggest national security threat to his presidency. In dramatic detail, Woodward takes readers into the Oval Office as Trump’s head pops up when he is told in January 2020 that the pandemic could reach the scale of the 1918 Spanish Flu that killed 675,000 Americans.
