Historia
On a searing August day, Melisandre Harris Dawes committed the unthinkable: She left her two-month-old daughter locked in a car while she sat nearby on the shores of the Patapsco River. Melisandre was found not guilty by reason of criminal insanity, although there was much skepticism about her mental state. Freed, she left the country, her husband, and her two surviving children, determined to start over.

A little too much 'Carla Scout & Mommy.'
Revisado: 06-12-17
Would you listen to Hush Hush again? Why?
No. Nothing to go back for - particularly when I did not enjoy this performance.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kitty .. her marriage is being attacked & voicing her concerns would be useless if not destructive.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Let me count the ways ......
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No

Historia
Ten years ago, Craig Johnson wrote his first short story, the Hillerman Award-winning "Old Indian Trick". This was one of the earliest appearances of the sheriff who would go on to star in Johnson’s best-selling, award-winning novels and the A&E hit series Longmire. Each Christmas Eve thereafter, fans rejoiced when Johnson sent out a new short story featuring an episode in Walt’s life that doesn’t appear in the novels; over the years, many have asked why they can’t buy the stories in book form.

Historia
In Israel, a man clutching a backpack searches desperately for a boat. In Minnesota, Virgil Flowers gets a message from Lucas Davenport: You're about to get a visitor. It's an Israeli cop, and she's tailing a man who's smuggled out an extraordinary relic - a copper scroll revealing startling details about the man known as King Solomon. Wait a minute, laughs Virgil. Is this one of those Da Vinci Code deals? The secret scroll, the blockbuster revelation, the teams of murderous bad guys? Should I be boning up on my Bible verses? He looks at the cop. She's not laughing.

Historia
Unexpectedly called in to the Charlotte PD’s Cold Case Unit, Dr. Temperance Brennan wonders why she’s been asked to meet with a homicide cop who’s a long way from his own jurisdiction. The shocking answer: Two child murders, separated by thousands of miles, have one thing in common—the killer. Years ago, Anique Pomerleau kidnapped and murdered a string of girls in Canada, then narrowly eluded capture. It was a devastating defeat for her pursuers, Brennan and police detective Andrew Ryan.

Historia
First as a reporter and then as a PI, Tess Monaghan has learned how to survive and thrive on the streets of Baltimore. But a new case will force her to confront her own past, and a man she loved and lost. It starts when she gets a newspaper photograph of her old boyfriend with a tantalizing shard of headline attached: In Big Trouble. The answers lie far from Baltimore, deep in a world of good-time music, old-fashioned ambition, and rich people's games. For Tess must find out what happened to a man she thought she knew, to a woman who may have changed him forever, and to the victims of a killer who dances to a different - and deadly - drummer.

Tess in Texas ... great!
Revisado: 07-18-15
One of those stories you wish would go on longer. I think this one was more visual than any so far. Performance was great also - just that little thing about Blanco. As a native Texan and Austin transplant, hearing it as 'blahnco' instead of 'blanko' is grating.

Spellbinding!!
Revisado: 08-18-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Possibly the best book I have listened to (or read) in recent memory. The story just will not let you go so you listen for just a little more .. and a little more .. until you have lost track of time. I would not hesitate to recommend it my friends.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Still Life: A Novel?
So hard to choose without revealing too much - just imagine writing from the perspective of a woman in a coma, hearing everything going around her, trying to separate reality from imagination.
What about Kymberly Dakin’s performance did you like?
Kymberly Dakin's narration makes each character unique. There is no mistaking who is speaking and subtle changes in her voice let you know exactly what lies beneath the words.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Casey realizes who is responsible for her being in the coma.
Any additional comments?
I will definitely listen to the book again even knowing the answers to all the questions.
