fast moving, never boring, sensible progression of events and understandable military and space stuff w/out being super technical and nerdy. this is my all- time favorite series, his traitors son series took 2nd place - of all authors and all books these 2 series by this author is the best I've read! and I read/listen a LOT. I'm hoping there will be a third book in the series (in addition to the short stories). the author knows his stuff... on the page, in the field, in a fight... he's also my favorite author. I highly recommend cold iron - 3 book series.

This book had me smiling all the way through it. I'm 5 years older than Geena Davis, but at 6'1" tall, I went through a lot of the same kinds of things - including not getting the lead in my 6th grade play because I was too tall for the male lead (I was taller than the teacher as well!). I'm not usually a memoir reader but this one grabbed me and held on. I hope everyone treats themselves to this very relatable, unimaginably authentic, sweet and yes ... very polite (lol!) story. I'm my opinion, Ms. Davis is a serious badass! no question!

I enjoyed every minute. the narration was great, as Sreven Brand never fails to deliver a great performance. I liked everything about these books. the characters are very well developed, the world-building is excellent and Rhett are never loose ends left hanging.
I'm looking forward to the next book!

This is the best book I've read in years. I1t's read by the author, something that doesn't always work well but here it was perfect.
The story is wrenching, heartbreaking, funny, terrifying, infuriating- my emotions ran the gammit and I listened to this in one sitting.
Thank you Rep. Raskin, for your courage and faithfulness to our Democracy and to Tommy. We have lost two beautiful young women the same way. Please keep fighting for us. I've just moved to Florida and I have no idea how to start or what to do here, I will watch you and follow your lead!
This book is for every American. Look into the faces of your children, babies or grown, look hard and then start this book. Listen with your heart and your good, commonsense brain and think of your children! Because we are standing on ground we've never stood on before and it's shaky. We can lose ALL that we stand for as Americans or we can hold to each other and help get everyone back on solid ground. I recited the pledge of allegiance with my granddaughter and really thought about what I was saying with her - 'and to the Republic for which it stands/ONE Nation under God'. One nation - together.
I rarely write reviews but this book needs to be listened to again and again. I dedicate this review to Sam and Caroline - Tommy would have liked them both. thanks again congressman, at a time when I am truly afraid - body and soul - you brought light and knowledge - that greatest gift - to help me find my way.
