Historia
In Scotland's Outer Hebrides, a man washes up on a deserted beach, hypothermic and completely disoriented. He has no idea who he is or how he got there. The only clue to his condition is a map of the island showing a desolate, ancient path called the Coffin Road. With a sense of dread and no clear idea what lies at the other end, he knows he must follow the trail if he has any hope of discovering his identity. Meanwhile, homicide detective George Gunn makes the rough ocean crossing to a remote, sea-battered lighthouse to investigate a brutal murder.

Historia
For two years, Walter Stackhouse has been a faithful and supportive husband to his wife, Clara. But she is distant and neurotic, and Walter finds himself harboring gruesome fantasies about her demise. When Clara's dead body turns up at the bottom of a cliff in a manner uncannily resembling the recent death of a woman who was murdered by her husband, Walter finds himself under intense scrutiny.

This book was just not very good. The ending, was odd and confusing. It had hope but the writer lost the plot somewhere.

This was one of the worst books I've heard. I can't believe the descriptions anymore., it's advertising but not downright lies. The main character was the silliest person, she just does one stupid thing after the other. I'm glad I got on sale for $5. I'm just ashamed of myself for listening to the whole thing!

Historia
When a peculiar letter arrives inviting Armand Gamache to an abandoned farmhouse, the former head of the Sûreté du Québec discovers that a complete stranger has named him one of the executors of her will. Still on suspension, and frankly curious, Gamache accepts and soon learns that the other two executors are Myrna Landers, the bookseller from Three Pines, and a young builder. None of them had ever met the elderly woman. The will is so odd and includes bequests that are so wildly unlikely that Gamache and the others suspect the woman must have been delusional.

I was disappointed to see that this was Ian's only book on Audible. I loved his character development and the uniqueness of his plot. If you like mysteries you'll love this one. I was impressed with his descriptions of nature and the world in which these characters moved. Hope Ian writes many more!

Barbie does murder
Revisado: 01-10-18
The narration is so annoying a breathless Barbie comes to mind. It may be a very good plot but the narration is awful. I couldn't help but notice many Audio listeners have similar reactions, you'd think the author would get a clue and find someone else! The whole story is ruined because the voice just doesn't sound like a seasoned detective, more like a sex kitten that got the wrong job!

This was one of the worst books I've has the displeasure of suffering through, only because I was listening while driving.. The main character is so full of angst over everything she quickly became a bore. I kept wondering what horrible thing it was that she participated in. But this is a women that becomes almost suicidal over smoking A cigarette. Don't waste your money, you will become very frustrated waiting for something to happen to understand the point. Boo

Historia
Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his Black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

This was a great story with plenty of twists and turns. The narrative tone seemed forced or overly dramatic. She just needed to tone it down a bit. It kind of drove me crazy!
