Interesting story ruined by a lousy Narrarator.

I wanted to like this more. I really liked the premise, and I love the works of Jamie Hawke. I mean so much of his stuff is just awesome. I have heard Leo Barnabas's stuff before, but I didn't recall when I bought this the shitty half-vampire harem book I heard him Narrarate. So I did give him a two because there was no clipping, repeats, or sound editing errors. HOWEVER, his thick Boston/Mainer accent is just so awful. A lot of characters sound the same. Like Rachel Dratch in that "SMAHT PAHK" commercial. The Maine Character sounds like a Cross between a stoner Maine Towney and Shaggy. Which would make sense if he was from Portland, Maine, not Portland, Oregon.

As far as the book goes the story is interesting. It tries to cram a lot in a short time, and I feel it easily could have slowed down and been longer. I feel there is definitely a 4th book here at least. Hey, leave um wanting more I get it. Also, I'd have liked more sexy with the gargoyles. It really feels like he favors the Witches a lot more. This is particularly bad because Old Red Soxx Announcer man Himself saved his most arousal killing voice for Steph. And boy is she in it a lot. Saying Sexy Stuff. However, with his accent, all I can imagine is her next line will be "Awww yeah Big Paahhpi, Pahk That Caaah Studmuhffin. You Swing it like Nohmaaahh."

If you Have heard Leo Before and like him. Cool Definitely pick this up. I would rebuy this with a new narrator. As it stands. Kinda wishing I just bought the book. Oh Well! I still enjoyed the material itself. I will say if you do like this you should really check out Myth Protector. They have a similar feel and a much better narrator.

Good Start!

Logan Jacobs is a talented writer. I really like his harem books. He is skilled at building interesting worlds and races, He also has some skill with description. A lot of his works are also quite funny. Usually, there is not enough sex for me, and when there is the scenes are too short. Still he makes up for that with a nice use of Romance. Usually, too much action/fighting bores me, but this was just right.

This story is interesting and I found it easy to marathon. If you like D&D or other books like Summoner, Dragon Slayer, or Metal Mage. I think you'll enjoy. Here's hoping the next book is a bit steamier.

Love this Series!!!!

Man I am addicted to the Succubus Lord books. Funny, sexy, and always intriguing. The final act could have used more sexy fun for me but there was a lot to love here. I can't wait for #3

Good First Part

There's a lot to like here. The MC is very easy to root for, and the girls are very sexy and well written. I like the fact that it is very flirty. The action is good, but not so ever-present it becomes boring. I find the dialogue and voice actors very fun. My only downsides are the fact I hate fade to black sex scenes, and the "Transported to a new world" angle was just different than what I hoped for.

Hellish Good Fun

I really fell in love with this on Kindle, and I was not disappointed when it came to audible. I really love harem books, but for me they need a lot of sex and comedy. This one brings all that with more than enough fighting action to satisfy people who need that stuff.

I could have 10 more and it wouldn't be enough. The characters are funny, full bodied, and the magic system is creative and good. Succubus Lord 2 ASAP please!

Lackluster Sequel

This author really sticks to a style. "Hero is transformed by MacGuffin device and becomes cool, but needless meaningless character death must be had so the author can feel edgy."


Honestly, I really like the first book and I like the first half of this book. Plenty of sex scenes, Action, all in a good blend...then the last third hits and all just falls into a shit basin. SPOILER: Introducing a character, giving her purpose, then killing her meaninglessly and off camera is real shit writing. I liked the first book, I have some very negative feelings about this one. I dunno if I want more. Pierce seems to be addicted to cheap story hooks like this as seen in forever young. Character death does not make you cool or edgy. It can help a story, but it needs to be used judiciously and not formulaic like someone who cares more about getting paid than writing a story. Sadly that's how this comes off.


TLDR: Did you like book #1? Me too. Did you hate the weird out of place character death in #1? This book does not improve on that it is shorter and has a rushed shitty ending.

Space Opera Heaven

This book scores big marks on all levels, the real heartbreaker is that there isn't more out right now. I need them all. Still you need to listen to this, about 8 times.

Confusing

This felt like a book two. Your very much dropped into a world where a lot is going on, but by the time things were being explained I had a very hard time caring. The MC was irritating. I wanted to like this because the Narrator was awesome, but I can't recommend this one.

Sultry and Suspenseful

MSE is an amazing author, I hope for his return daily. That being said this book is just the kind of thing I really love. It has plenty of steamy loving, great character development, and moments that really tug on the heart. The Narrator is also quite awesome. You really need to check this one out!

A whole book with my favorite Jamie Hawke Character? Yes Please. Tess does a great job here and the story does a good job of sucking you in. Some of the scenes with Charm and her friends are super hot, and I hope we see more of them.
