Really wish he had hired a narrator

There is some good information in this book. The issue is that it's so deeply shrouded in snarky judgemental comments that it's hard to find. Additionally, the author/narrator style flips so quickly from derision to nurturing in his tone that it's distracting and annoying. This book is better in the printed format so you can skip through and find the gems.

Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right? I expected to get thrown out on my ass. Instead, they...offered me the job?

I don't usually enjoy first person present tense stories, but this one was exceptional. the story was engaging and the character was wonderful to follow as he struggled against the preconceived notions of everyone around him. The narration was spot-on and easy to listen to. I recommend this book.

Totally recommend this book. The story is YA, but I enjoyed it as an adult. It didn't suffer from diluted plot syndrome that is common among YA books. The characters are wonderful, the plot moved at a steady pace building to a nice crescendo and the world was WONDERFUL! For the record, this is not a Harry Potter with superpowers book. Finally, the narration was spot on. He switched back and forth between accents with ease making it easy to follow.
I for sure recommend this book!

Seriously. If you are in the middle of a project or need to get stuff done... If you have a deadline, don't do it. The story is well plotted, the characters are wonderful and the narration is perfect for the story. You've been warned.
