Historia
In the milky mountains, upon the lofty summit known as Altar Peak, stand the spacious and somber ruins of a monastery once famous as the ARK. Traditions would link it with an antiquity so hoary as the Flood. Numerous legends have been woven about the Ark, but the one most current on the tongues of local mountaineers among whom I chanced to spend a certain summer in the shade of Altar Peak is the following: Many years after the great Deluge, Noah and his family, and his family’s increase, drifted into the Milky Mountains.

Narrator continually BOTCHED the text
Revisado: 01-06-19
I'm sorry but this narrator really BOTCHED the text in too many places . The Book Of Mirdad deserves better..
Though he had a mellow, kind voice The narrator misquoted the text a 100 of times . Either he left a word out or added a word or substituted one word for another or put in a long pause that broke the flow of consciousness
Just a few examples of BOTCHING the text : :
TEXT : "A day ESTATIC with beat of the wings of freedom"
Narrator : " A day ELASTIC with the beat of the wings of freedom"
TEXT : How trite is all else in comparison >NARRATOR : all else is trite in comparison
TEXT : Let Understanding DAWN in your heart NARRATOR :"Let Understanding be DRAWN from you heart"
He also broke the natural flow of the narrative by pausing in inappropriate places . For example :
Text : “no voice to bolster up his waning courage and steel his rapidly failing strength,”
Narrator: “ No voice to bolster up (LONG PAUSE) His courage waning – His strength rapidly failing “
TEXT : To his indescribable delight he saw some delicate tufts of grass sprouting here and yon.
NRARRATOR : To his indescribable delight he saw some delicate tufts of grass sprouting( 2 second pause ) here and yon.”
Then there are places where the text was wrong and a good narrator would have corrected it :
For example :
TEXT : then are they made to bite the dust while the sleepwalker at THOSE they shrugged their shoulders
CORRECTED :” then are they made to bite the dust while the sleepwalker at WHOM they shrugged their shoulders "
But the narrator read it : “then are they made to bite the dust while the sleepwalker at THOSE they shrugged their shoulders”(TYPO and all :) 🙄
His metre was off for “NIGHT THE PEERLESS SINGER”
Hopefully they will do another recording with a more accurate narrator or with someone directing this narrator
The book of mirdad Deserves better that have its text botched

What’s in those photos, she won’t say, but with her meager savings just about exhausted, she hires Jack to help her. The second: an elderly woman needs Jack to find her missing son. Jack must infiltrate the inner reaches of the Dormentalist Church, a secretive, globe-spanning cult whose members include some of the biggest and most powerful names in entertainment, sports, and politics.

Unbelievably bad female voice
Revisado: 04-30-18
Would you try another book from F. Paul Wilson and/or Christopher Price?
Unfortunately I bought the whole series and I will have to endure Christopher Price LOW base female voices
What didn’t you like about Christopher Price’s performance?
His female voices that are lower in pitch than Jacks . They dont fit the story's description of the female character who is described as a 43 year old writer who is a "dream babe" yet Christoper's voice for her sounds like a gruff old husky man of 53 . I just found it torture to listen to . Really its the fault of who ever produced the audio book . The producer should have seen that Christopher was incapable of unwilling to do a female voice and got a female; to play jamie's part . It totally ruined the audio book for me .

Austen’s heroine Elizabeth Bennet deals with the issues of manners, upbringing, morality, education, and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of early 19th-century England. Austen at her wittiest.

Mother and youngest daughter voices off
Revisado: 07-15-17
Would you listen to Pride And Prejudice again? Why?
Yes . Its is a pure book free of sex and violence with good human communications . Likable enough characters and artfully done literary style . Like any work of art it should be enjoyed again and again. .
What was one of the most memorable moments of Pride And Prejudice?
Mr Darcy's letter
What aspect of Emma Messenger’s performance would you have changed?
The voice of the mother too high pitched and too loud I would have taken it down 1/3 octave and reduced the volume from 8/10 to 6/10 . also taken the trill (vibrato) out of it. Iy was annoying
the voice of the youngest Bennet girl was also annoying and sounded more like the mother than a 15yr old girl . It had virbato like a fat middle aged woman not the voice of a 15 yr old . I would have made it more like Crorrsett in Les Miserables when . she was in love with the young rebel not like a fat old woman trilling . NO vibrato just eagerness of youth .
Emma Messenger did a stellar 5 star performance in Jane Erye whicbh in my opinion is a much better book than P&P as well
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No
