Historia
Life doesn't always go according to plan. For ex-CIA Agent Samuel Caulfield, his plans were ripped out from under him after a chance encounter in a firefight. One deal with a dark goddess later, and he's cast into the trenches of a Victorian world, with clashing empires, Elves, Dwarves, Dragons, and more. Surrounded by death, on the front lines of a war without intelligence, he'll have to rely on his wits, his platoon, and a surprise gift from his goddess.

Start of a new good series.

I very much enjoyed this story and can't wait for a second. The flow is awesome, the emotions are portrayed so vividly and the characters are very much lovable. Definitely a book I would love to read/listen more of.

Historia
The Shadow Nations man the Bronze Citadel. It’s going to take the combined might of the Mystocean Empire’s dragonmancers, the catmancers of Akrit, and the bearmancers of Vetrusca to bring them down. And, if we’re lucky, we’ll be joined by mancers from elsewhere in the world. But the Shadow Nations are not without their surprises, and a certain type of dragon could prove too difficult for even me, Mike Noctis the Dragon Breeder, to handle.

Satisfying end.

This story ends really well, yet leaving you wanting more. I loved the lore of the story, the world, and even allot of the creatures and their mancers, yet leaving you you curious of the other types that were mentioned but not shown or displayed. I think this book has n't been worked on for a year? (Haven't checked the date of release.) But I would love to hear/read more of the story of the other mancers and their locations, and more of certain relationships that started but haven't been expanded upon do to the book ending.
