Historia
Orphaned and besieged, Princess Alesandra knew that only hasty marriage to an Englishman could protect her from the turmoil in her own land. To the amusement of her makeshift guardian, Colin, younger brother of the Marquess of Cainewood, the bold raven-haired beauty instantly captivated London society. But when Alesandra was nearly abducted by her unscrupulous countrymen, the fighting instincts that won Colin a knighthood for valor were kindled. Deceiving himself that he wanted only to protect her, Colin swept her into a union meant to be a marriage in name alone...yet Alesandra's tender first kiss and hesitant caress ignited a wildfire in his soul.

Entertaining and Exceptional
Revisado: 01-19-24
I very much enjoyed this book and couldn't sleep until I finished it. The characters were well developed. I was sad when I couldn't find any other five star Amanda Quick novels. However, so many of her books were receiving poor reviews due to the narrator.
I read the reviews before I purchase a book, and I am completely baffled by all the fussing over the narration. I have even listened to a few with that specific complaint and found the narrator to be fine. I even listened to a book where the reader continuously mispronounced an often used adjective. It was irritating, but I did not become unglued over that part of the production. For Pete's sake people, it is an audio book and narrators will vary. I just feel there must be an abundance of "Karen" complainers out there who need to get a life.

Entertaining
Revisado: 06-24-21
First of all, let me say, so many reviewers are just plain PICKY. This was free for Pete's sake! Yes, I knew right away that Chloe was in trouble. Yes, there were early signs. But that ALWAYS happens in stories like this. You know going in that someone HAS to face a challenge and you have to get them there somehow. The narrator did a fine job. I liked her voice. I did feel the suspense build, I did love the connections to Chloe's past and I was surprised by the main plot twist. Just relax and enjoy the pea pickin' story. I see it as yet another warning to the most preyed upon group in society. If it feels wrong, it is wrong. Listen, learn and enjoy. I certainly did!

Historia
Returning to the lavish Chicago setting of her popular novel Paradise, and revisiting some of that book's characters as well, this story will captivate in inimitable Judith McNaught style. High atop a snow-covered hill, the stately old Wyatt mansion is perched like a crown. Such opulence means success and, surely, happiness. But on the eve of wealthy philanthropist Cecil Wyatt's 80th birthday, all the money in the world won't bring back his missing grandson, William Wyatt. The only thing for certain: Foul play was involved.

Romance Royalty
Revisado: 12-22-20
Judith McNaught is one of my two absolute favorite romance authors. I am shocked Amazon only has two of her books. Her stories simply flow and are hard to put down. My most favorite of her books is Something Wonderful. It is one I continue to reread every other year or so. That being said, this particular novel is very good, but not number one on my list. Her attention to detail is excellent and her characters are enjoyable. I consider it to be a worthwhile read for any romance fan.
