Historia
God's Debris isn't a conventional book. It is written on three separate levels, by Scott Adams, better known as the creator of the Dilbert comic. What is less known about Adams is that he's a trained hypnotist. God's Debris is what happens when creativity and hypnosis intersect. On the surface, God's Debris is a simple fictional story of a delivery man who encounters an Avatar who knows literally everything.

Interesting enough to listen straight through. Simple enough to enjoy. Thought provoking.

I enjoyed the questioning of life. Some points that I’m more familiar with, within my own life, allowed me to see how the story teller over simplified, to the degree that most of what’s discussed should be taken lightly. Still very thought proving and enjoyable.

Historia
The firebombing of Tokyo. Strategic Air Command. John F. Kennedy. Dr. Strangelove. George Wallace. All of these have one man in common—General Curtis LeMay, who remains as enigmatic and controversial as he was in life. Until now. Warren Kozak traces the trajectory of America’s most infamous general, from his troubled background and heroic service in Europe to his firebombing of Tokyo, guardianship of the U.S. nuclear arsenal in the Cold War, frustrated career in government, and short-lived political run.

Simply written but fitting to the story being told
Revisado: 11-26-22
Enjoyed learning about a person who I hadn’t known of. The story is told with a bias point of view. One that is in favor of LeMay but I preferred it that way. If I want to learn more, maybe bashing biography will be next.

Historia
A modern classic, Einstein's Dreams is a fictional collage of stories dreamed by Albert Einstein in 1905, when he worked in a patent office in Switzerland. As the defiant but sensitive young genius is creating his theory of relativity, a new conception of time, he imagines many possible worlds. In one, time is circular, and people are fated to repeat their triumphs and failures over and over. In another, there is a place where time stands still, visited by lovers and parents clinging to their children.

What is Time?
Revisado: 01-27-19
It is in every imagination and every vignette of this book. It is the thing we flow with and rebel against. It is the very thing that keeps us from understanding a loved one, a friend or foe. It is within us and beyond us.

Historia
How much can we know about the world? In this audiobook physicist Marcelo Gleiser traces our search for answers to the most fundamental questions of existence, the origin of the universe, the nature of reality, and the limits of knowledge. In so doing he reaches a provocative conclusion: Science, like religion, is fundamentally limited as a tool for understanding the world. As science and its philosophical interpretations advance, we face the unsettling recognition of how much we don't know.

Revisado: 05-17-18
One of those books that can affirm all your intuitions about life without having to do years of study to gain and get lost, along the way, in specific study. An epic overview of the history of science/knowledge which builds like a blockbuster and an open ended finally.
Fantastic narration and flow to the audio which, I’m sure, ads to the authority of the authors words.

Historia
Here, anthropologist David Graeber presents a stunning reversal of conventional wisdom: He shows that before there was money, there was debt. For more than 5,000 years, since the beginnings of the first agrarian empires, humans have used elaborate credit systems to buy and sell goods - that is, long before the invention of coins or cash. It is in this era, Graeber argues, that we also first encounter a society divided into debtors and creditors.

Revisado: 05-01-17
There is a lot you can take away from this book. Wonderfully told and narrated. If I could ask Phil Knight one question, it would be; Is it precisely "your crazy idea" that made Nike and yourself what they are today? Was it because the idea was big enough and so uncommon that it became an essential part of the formula for the huge successes that followed.

Historia
One hundred thousand years ago, at least six human species inhabited the Earth. Today there is just one. Us. Homo sapiens. How did our species succeed in the battle for dominance? Why did our foraging ancestors come together to create cities and kingdoms? How did we come to believe in gods, nations, and human rights; to trust money, books, and laws; and to be enslaved by bureaucracy, timetables, and consumerism?

Pessimist or Optimists that is the question.
Revisado: 04-02-17
Sapiens is an excellent test of anyone who dares read it. Mostly agree with it, finishing the book with a new found favorite and you could be placed in the optimist category. On the other hand if you often find disagreement and maybe even are angered by the reading of it you might just be a pessimist and it's likely you won't even finish it.
