I will admit that I listened to this on a whim, but I'm glad I did. even though it's short it packs a punch with a wealth of information. I also liked that they quoted someone from either Harvard. yale, or Stanford, and they explained that being a night owl or even an extreme night owl is normal for some people. now I might try others in the series.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. it made my recent 3 hour road trip fly by and it seemed like no time had passed. very few books whisk me away like that. I really liked the female main characters tounge in cheek humor and there were a few spots that had me laughing so hard it was tough to keep my eye on the road. all that being said, I thought that the ending was a little bit of a let down, and a little abrupt. yes there is a lesson to be learned like in all fairy tales, albeit a somewhat cynical one, I just wish there was more to the end of the story. I felt like the was a long climactic journey and then 3 or 4 sentences after that and it was over and it was a shame because I wanted more at the end so I deducted 1 star.

Listening to the book after previously have only seen the movies adds depth to the story I fell in love with in the theatre. The narrator's performance is on point and does voices extremely well and the way in which he reads adds so much to the story. I heartily recommend listening to this rendition to fans of the movies and those who have only read the books, it was a truly awesome experience.

said in the previews that they would be visiting Hendrix at Woodstock and that was not in the book, it's basically a time travel book in the bill n Ted's excellent adventure vibe but no where near as funny

Beloved Christmas Classic

I first learned of this story as a child from the Rankin/Bass Christmas special on TV. As, a matter of fact, I loved it even more than Rudolph. The story on this version is just a tad bit different but close enough that I can picture it in my head as the story goes along. Definitely worth watching if you can find it, but the story really shines here. What I really enjoyed about this book, is what happened after the mantle of immortality was bestowed on Claus. During his yearly rides he found that some newer houses did not have chimneys to go down and he did not have a way to deliver gifts to some children, so he then got some fairies as helpers (I guess modern day elves) and he also started supplying toy shops and deputizing parents to help with deliveries, which I thought was a wonderful addition to the book. It could be used to explain to some children why parents went out to get certain gifts if they found them in the house before Christmas. I don't know if kids today with smart phones and internet would buy it but back when I grew up it would have been a perfect answer. I was a kid who believed. Christmas was magical for me growing up and my dad was a living Santa. He worked for a toy distributor and was always giving toys away to anyone who stopped by my house any time of year, and he said that no matter how old you are you need toys for Christmas. It's a tradition that my family has kept up even since his passing. But this little known tale about Santa Claus by L. Frank Baum is just as if not more iconic to me the the Wizard of Oz. Definitely worth a listen or read.

was a great addition to my library. I have found that I prefer to listen to books as I retain the information better. now I am enjoying books that I have always wanted to read but intimated me due to length or the fact they skipped around too much, and the voice acting in this version is perfect,

I really did not know what to expect with this book. That being said, it was an interesting listen, and while it was listed as a theatrical production to me it just felt like a really long monologue or more like a diary entry. The main character is sitting in the ICU having a long conversation with her husband who is in a coma. The story was slow in the beginning and then the ending left me wanting more. I wanted to know what her decisions and actions would have been after the discovery twist at the end.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. the narrat6was awesome and I loved that he did voices for all the characters. I especially thought the voice he did for king Robert barratheon was so close to the voice of the actor that portrayed him in the HBO series it was spot on.
