Historia
Why is Miami… Miami? What does the heartbreaking fate of the cheetah tell us about the way we raise our children? Why do Ivy League schools care so much about sports? What is the Magic Third, and what does it mean for racial harmony? In this provocative new work, Malcolm Gladwell returns to the subject of social epidemics and tipping points, this time with the aim of explaining the dark side of contagious phenomena. Through a series of gripping stories, Gladwell traces the rise of a new and troubling form of social engineering

Another Classic
Revisado: 01-15-25
Every book as great as the original Tipping Point. Can’t believe it’s been 25 years since I read the original! A Gladwell read is always fascinating and entertaining at the same time. This is another such read.

I first learned of Mr. Thorp from his amazing work in his book Beat The Dealer, which I read in the 1970s. So nice to learn what an amazing and productive life he had. Thank you for this wonderful book.

Normal thinking leads to normal results. For exceptional results, traders must think differently. This book will guide and inspire you in ways no other trading book has. It is not about strategies and money management. It is about mind management. Tom Hougaard provides a unique and refreshingly personal account of how an ordinary trader elevated his game to incredible heights by focusing as much on his mental approach as on his technical analysis. Best Loser Wins explains how you, by thinking differently when you are trading, can elevate your game from mediocre to excellent.

Top Five Book on Trading
Revisado: 12-04-24
While the author is a day trader, which I am not, I still found this book invaluable. Not a trading system, but really a book about the successful mindset needed to succeed in the markets. Critically important when you realize well over 75% of people who participate in the market lose.
I would easily put this among the top five most important books I have read about succeeding in the financial markets.

Fabulous Summary
Revisado: 11-30-24
While the author describes this as a fitting introduction to the previous four market wizards books, as it happened, I read this after I had already finished the previous four. I can say it also serves as an outstanding summary of what came before. Certainly doesn’t replace reading and re-reading the indispensable, market, wizards books, But if you’re pressed for time, this is a great place to start.

Historia
When award-winning actor, producer, and international icon Gabriel Byrne was a young boy, his grandmother brought him to the cinema for the first time. There, Byrne fell in love with the transporting power of the big screen. Growing up in 1950s and 60s Dublin within a family of eight, Byrne's formative childhood years were both carefree and challenging, spent between home, the church, school, and the streets of his ever-changing city.

Historia
This book explores the evolutionary roots of loving our team and hating the enemy team, and why groupish caveman instincts linger in our minds today. It answers: If tribalism is hardwired into us, what changed in the last twenty years? How did partisanship get so loud, toxic, and obnoxious, and ruin last Thanksgiving? Finally, it says what we can do about it as individuals navigating relationships, and as society as a whole.

Serious Topic - Hilariously Explained
Revisado: 10-22-24
How you take a serious topic like our inherent tribalist nature and make it laugh out loud funny is a mystery. But the author pulls it off. But hey … that’s why he is Andrew Heaton … and I’m not!
This is one of those books that you really should get the audio version. The author reads it himself which makes the material even funnier and more engaging.
Great job, and great book!
