What a sequel!
Revisado: 06-30-22
This book was just as good as the first and I found myself taken aback by just how good of a story it is. I feel like it is the perfect continuation of Dread Nation and even cried a few times! This is definitely one of my favorite series of books and I hope that possibly in the future we'll see more from in this world! Great book, 10/10, will listen to again

In this revolutionary book, psychiatrist and neuroscientist Dr. Amir Levine and Rachel Heller scientifically explain why some people seem to navigate relationships effortlessly, while others struggle.

Revisado: 07-26-19
This book was absolutely wonderful, which was to be expected. Neil Gaiman does a great job writing and of course, telling us his stories. This book has a great plot and character development. I was not disappointed at all with this book and would definitely recommend!

In this new America, safety for all depends on the work of a few, and laws like the Native and Negro Education Act require certain children attend combat schools to learn to put down the dead.

Wonderful and powerful story
Revisado: 06-20-19
This book was absolutely wonderful. I grew quite attached to all of the main characters so it was very pleasing to have a somewhat happier ending than I was expecting. Still wondering what happened to Gideon, though! Would love a sequel, I'm not sure if there is one but I'm going to look!

Wow!
Revisado: 03-25-19
What an absolutely amazing book. I decided to give it a listen after wanting to know more than the movie based on this book gives you. I'm my opinion, it's even better than the movie. Granted (spoiler alert) I was slightly disappointed that the Iron Giant didnt seem to make it into the epic battle. But I seemed to lose myself in the 15+ hours of information and interesting story that this book gave me. This book is absolutely fantastic and to be honest I am slightly sad about how much the movie had changed. The movie was great, and the fact that it's so much shorter than the book is reason enough as to why they changed so much, but it would have been really cool to see more. I loved this book and would 10/10 recommend it, especially to those who saw the movie and want more.
P.s. Did I mention that its narrated by Wil Wheaton? Omg ❤

Haunting, beautiful and more depressing than hell.
Revisado: 02-22-19
Nuff said.
It was a good story though, so long as you're okay with being left feeling more depressed than ever, regardless of the happy ending (at least, SOMEWHAT happy ending)

If you fell in love with Melanie in the million-copy-selling post-apocalyptic phenomenon The Girl With All the Gifts - there's more to the story... Once upon a time, in a land blighted by terror, there was a very clever boy. The people thought the boy could save them, so they opened their gates and sent him out into the world. To where the monsters lived.

Even better than the first book of the series!
Revisado: 02-20-19
This book is AMAZING! I really hope that the author decides to continue the story. After reading The Girl With All The Gifts and then finishing this one, the story definitely would be complete with just these two. However, my fangirl heart yearns for more!
This book was wonderfully written and narrated. You delve so deep into the story when you listen that it's almost as if you are living it. The epilogue gave me goosebumps more than once (I even replayed just the epilogue and got the same response). I listened at work and almost had to stop listening because I was getting so emotional during the epilogue!
PLEASE KEEP WRITING MORE BOOKS, M. R. CAREY, EVEN IF THEY HAVE OTHER STORY PLOTS. The gift you share with us all through writing deserves to be heard and read! You have such a talent ❤

Carolyn's not so different from the other human beings around her. After all, she was a normal American herself once. That was a long time ago, of course - before the time she calls "adoption day", when she and a dozen other children found themselves being raised by a man they learned to call Father.

Revisado: 01-28-19
What an amazing book! Never a dull moment in the story. It was very well thought out, with no plot holes that I can think of. There are some harder parts to listen to, but the ending and the fulfilling story make it worth a listen. I will be buying the paper version of this book, I love it so much! 10/10, Will definitely be recommending.

Had a hard time getting into the book
Revisado: 01-16-19
But the book does get more interesting. it's definitely more of a slice of life kind of book. I also had a hard time ignoring the narrator taking deep breaths at the beginning of every sentence and the really long pauses between chapters, but I got used to it after a while. The book started out somewhat boring but got more interesting the more I listened

What in the Hell
Revisado: 01-10-19
WHAT did I just spend 11 and a half hours listening to 😳
I gave it 4 stars overall only because I feel seriously bad for louise. And also because I enjoy happy endings and this story does not have a happy ending, it has a confusing and "what the f*ck" kind of ending. Left me slightly shook, not gonna lie. Overall it was a pretty entertaining story though.
