The narrator was excellent, but the story dragged and the plot twists seemed contrived., cheesy, and ridiculous. I missed Holt's usual lyrical prose. Kind of sorry I spent my credit on this title as I will never listen to it again.

Doig exudes love for his family, land, & history

I guess my favorite parts were about sheep herding in Montana, both in Doig's earliest years and I. his teens. what a unique experience! So profoundly tied to the land and weather. I feel very soft by any comparison. his dad and grandmother walk right out of the book into your heart. Great narration, too.

Engaging, fascinating, history + science

Fixing nitrogen accounts for the fact that I have plenty and variety in my diet. This book traces the discovery and development of that process and industry. Hager shows us the various people who were involved and the deeply entwined connection to the German war machine. I understood the explanations of the chemistry and processes without having a high test science back ground. it was a thoroughly interesting listen with excellent narration.

Ten Drugs was a wonderful listen. Mr Hager`s writing is interesting, lucid and aimed at the average person, so I could follow the stories and the science easily, yet without feeling bored. in fact I LOVED the book and learned so much especially about developments in the last 60 years, of which I knew nothing before.

My dad kept a few hives when I was a kid, so I loved learning more about the industry and how hive collapse and mites have impacted our big agricultural bee keepers. I will be looking up this authornfor more excellent nonfiction!
