Historia
Without Nebraska, Bruce Springsteen might not be who he is today. The natural follow-up to Springsteen’s hugely successful album The River should have been the hit-packed Born in the U.S.A. But instead, in 1982, he came out with an album consisting of a series of dark songs he had recorded by himself, for himself. But more than forty years later, Nebraska is arguably Springsteen’s most important record—the lasting clue to understanding not just his career as an artist and the vision behind it, but also the man himself.

Revisado: 08-28-24
I first read The Sun Also Rises in my twenties. It was one of my favorite books. I can see why a reader today might not see why it was such a big deal, but it was rightfully a tremendously influential novel. Still an excellent read and moving on many levels.

Today, the US Constitution is the oldest, continually-operating instrument of government in the world. But to think of the Constitution as a fully-formed, canonical document is to miss out on an honest, well-rounded grasp of American history. Now, more than ever, any well-informed citizen should understand how the Constitution lives, breathes, and endures.

An interesting, but ultimately unsatisfying biography of Truman
Revisado: 07-08-23
It is an interesting addition to the books on Truman, but ultimately unsatisfying. The author largely ignores Truman’s work and accomplishments on domestic issues. It has new details on how Truman operated as President, but seems more focused on poking holes in the positive historical view of Truman,
