As the first episode of the podcast, Dr. Nessim does a good job in telling us "the rest of the story" of Chunukah and it's connection to the Temple during Yeshua's time. He also lays the foundation of how the actions of the Maccabees tied into the establishment of both the Pharisees and Sadducees. I definitely "all in" to hearing more. Quite fascinating.

This is well written and the performance was excellent. I could listen to this story again. A bittersweet story of growing up during a difficult time in America especially for a black family. It is however, more than that...it's a "humanity" story. Her narration kept me hooked into the story.

Well written, well performed story!!

This was at times a very difficult story to listen to but the narration captures and keeps you to the end. A time in the life of a young girl's awareness of her society and her courageous decision to do something about it falls against the backdrop of the lives of a disadvantaged people. Very much worth your time.
