Historia
At once profoundly personal and far-reaching, Exit Interview with My Grandmother serves as a meditation on the beginning of a young woman’s life and the series of questions that arise from examining love, loss, family, memory, and death. Moving between cities and centuries, Meyersohn probes her family's Jewish history and her grandparents' relationships in part to decipher her own young queer relationships, but also to examine how we ought to behave in the face of a world riddled with uncertainty and doubt.

Bad language not necessary
Revisado: 05-19-20
I stopped listening after she dropped her first F-bomb. Totally unnecessary in telling a story!!!

Most of us have heard of gluten - a protein found in wheat that causes widespread inflammation in the body. Americans spend billions of dollars on gluten-free diets in an effort to protect their health. But what if we've been missing the root of the problem?

Grat education on lectins
Revisado: 07-28-19
I'd never heard of lectins before listening to this book. It was fascinating to learn about the plants that don't wish to be eaten. The information was great, but the narration was really annoying. It would have been better to have had someone else narrate the book.

Historia
If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed. On May 17, 2014, Admiral William H. McRaven addressed the graduating class of the University of Texas at Austin on their Commencement day. Taking inspiration from the university's slogan, "What starts here changes the world," he shared the ten principles he learned during Navy Seal training that helped him overcome challenges not only in his training and long Naval career, but also throughout his life; and he explained how anyone can use these basic lessons to change themselves - and the world - for the better.

Inspiring
Revisado: 06-11-17
I was intrigued by the title and chose it because of the positive reviews. The book was riveting and I listened to it in two sittings. It was thoroughly inspiring from beginning to end. Great advice coupled with powerful stories and examples that I will not soon forget. I love that it was read by the author. Highly recommend to others.

Not what I expected. Some good points, but overall not a great book. Narration ok but she's not good when trying to use someone else's voice.

Kind of a waste of time
Revisado: 06-04-14
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, by the end of the book we couldn't keep track of some of the characters. Got a little convoluted. We liked "Tuesdays With Morrie" but this one didn't work for us. Best part was the true part about Alexander Graham Bell.
What was most disappointing about Mitch Albom’s story?
The story
Have you listened to any of Mitch Albom’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, see above.
Was The First Phone Call from Heaven worth the listening time?
No.
