First and foremost, the final book hasn’t been released. At this point, it seems it might not ever be released. Each date is pushed back and no it’s going on 4 years.
Evie is super selfish and extremely wishy washy. She only “chooses” based on lack of having another option. Oh, that person is gone, guess I choose you. Nope, that’s not a choice.
I thought the first book was decent, albeit disturbing when the male character listening to her story was involved. I only held on this long to see where this $&@$show ends up, only to find the author’s screwed us once again, because there is no end.
I think both guys should ditch her and her “I want you both, even though it’s killing the other” selfish ways. She is pretty much useless and only “helps” because she’s forced to do something. She is a girl who has strong powers, but she is most certainly not a strong girl. She’s a limp noodle incapable of thinking about anyone other than what she wants. Aric is a kidnapper and torturer that might be a good person deep down, but it’s just gross that she’d even consider being with him. Jack is the only one that’s decent in the entire series. Evie doesn’t know the meaning of forever. Her wants change as much as the wind and we’re supposed to believe that she has undying love for them both. No, she has undying love for torturing anyone she cares about with her selfishness.
I’m almost glad it won’t ever end, because I won’t have to be infuriated with her lack of playing a active role in her life and just hurting those closest to her.
If she truly loved either as much as she claimed she would let them both go.

Boy, that escalated quickly.
Revisado: 10-11-21
I enjoyed the first book and thought it had an interesting premise. This book, however, not so much. This is what happens when you plan for a trilogy, but decide maybe not. The first 3/4 were build up to an epic showdown. Then she either lost funding or inspiration for a third and was like let me wrap this up quickly. For a book trying to focus on how love will fix the world, she leaves pretty much everyone she loves behind. The whole “I have to do everything alone” mentality gets old. Especially, when her supporting cast keeps popping up to remind her that she’s not alone. At the end,Reka essentially ended up doing to Ander what was done to Delphine.

Historia
Daisy Lee Monroe thought she'd brushed the dust of Lovett, Texas, off her high-heeled shoes years ago, but she's come back home only to find that little has changed. Her sister is still crazy, and her mom still has pink plastic flamingos in her front yard. And Jackson Lamott Parrish, the bad boy she'd left behind, is still so sexy it hurts. She'd like nothing better than to avoid this particular man, but she can't. Daisy has something to say to Jackson, and she's not going anywhere until he listens.

Not a fan
Revisado: 08-02-21
I’ve liked most of the other books I’ve read by Rachel. Not this one. The heroine is awful and has no redeeming qualities. I actively rooted against her and the male lead getting back together. The secret she kept for 15 years is unforgivable. I kept hoping that the male lead would not forgive her. She did absolutely nothing to earn forgiveness, just expected it, because it would make her life easier. I had to force myself to keep listening. I normally love a HEA, but don’t feel like it fits this book. This is not a feel good story or an easy read. Lots of angst and not in a good way. The story left me feeling very unsettled and irritated.

Just gross.
Revisado: 07-01-21
The MC has some serious issues that she lets a group of boys abuse her and still comes back for more. Full of teenage sex, kidnapping, and abusive boyfriends, sexually, mentally, emotionally, you name it, they’re abusive. And she “develops feelings” for the worst one! All while passing from one guy to the next. I couldn’t even finish the first book. Hard pass.
