Get ready for a book of twist and turns
Revisado: 04-26-22
This book combined my love of historical and mystery. So glad I took a chance to listen. It kept me thinking about the book even when I wasn’t listening. And the narrator was fabulous. I felt the characters in her voice. I look for to finding more works of both the author and the narrator.

Journey of forgetting
Revisado: 05-22-21
The story is about family and survival of one unexpected incident. That’s all it take to change the directions of your life. No longer does that five year plan exist. The story was a roller coaster of emotions and decisions.

Hello Girls
Revisado: 03-13-21
In the beginning I had a hard time listening to the narrator. It was very precise. As the story went along and she added more characters her voice relaxed a bit or I just got use to it. I made the decision to keep listening as I found the story interesting. I had heard about the hello girls. It was fun hearing about them in a story.

Historia
Cassie Hayward hates Christmas. Especially this year. No job. Flat broke. And an ex most definitely on the naughty list. But the unexpected inheritance of a Victorian cottage in the idyllic town of Poppy Creek may be the miracle Cassie needs. Except for one problem: a clause in the will. Cassie must complete a series of festive tasks for each day in December leading up to Christmas. Overseen by the disarmingly handsome, Christmas-loving lawyer Luke Davis.

The love of Christmas
Revisado: 02-20-21
I listened to two books from this author. The narrators voice keeps ringing in my memory with the conflict and happiness of Christmas. In fact she gave me my “hallmark moment” this year. Which was so needed. I needed to feel the story and characters the narrator did just that. I hope to listen to more books narrated by E.L. Beckett.

Historia
It is 1922, and London is tense. Ex-servicemen are disillusioned; the out-of-work and the hungry are demanding change. And in South London, in a genteel Camberwell villa, a large silent house now bereft of brothers, husband, and even servants, life is about to be transformed, as impoverished widow Mrs. Wray and her spinster daughter, Frances, are obliged to take in lodgers.

Twist of fate
Revisado: 02-20-21
This was nothing as I expected. I usually can guess or anticipate parts or most of the story. Without giving the story away I would just say I was excited to be surprised more than once. It only dragged a couple of times... such is life.
I felt the narration was spot on! It was a big part of why I was able to relate to the characters. It felt like I was apart of their lives and understood their emotions. That being said I would definitely listen to this again.
Hope to add another story/book from this author soon.

Worth every minute
Revisado: 09-12-20
I stayed up late to listen to this book. It was worth the lack of sleep. This had me on edge throughout the read. The narrator was amazing. At times I felt like more than one person was reading. It made the book come to life. If you like a good mystery I recommend this story.

Narrative was spot on
Revisado: 03-06-20
I completely enjoyed the voices of the characters and the use of two different voices to further separate the main characters.
I did get tired of the overuse of adjectives to describe the romantic moments. But if you listen for the romance this will probably be good for you. I did love the story just was a bit over the top for me.

Historia
She was only four years old when she was sold into the sex trade. White picket fences and steepled churches all guarded secrets that were not ever supposed to be told. In kindergarten, she began praying every night that Jesus would let her die. In second grade, she sat in church on a Sunday morning swinging her feet from a wooden pew behind the man who had paid to rape her the night before. Her perpetrators were from all walks of life. Here is the true account of how she was brought out of captivity and into a life of freedom.

Healing account
Revisado: 01-23-20
I wasn’t sure what to expect when beginning this book which became a journey. It is a well written account of the horrific details of human trafficking. The emotional and personal story allowed me to walk with her as her perpetrator and handler had easy access to to her throughout her life. The story has brought to light not only the ease of trafficking but perhaps a road map to healing. The narrator gives a beautiful voice to the details both ugly and searching. I felt as if I was there. I would recommend listening to this more than once especially if you need to find your way out or in the process of healing.
