Historia
Throughout these books, Follett has followed the fortunes of five intertwined families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they make their way through the twentieth century. Now they come to one of the most tumultuous eras of all: the enormous social, political, and economic turmoil of the 1960s through the 1980s, from civil rights, assassinations, mass political movements and Vietnam to the Berlin Wall, the Cuban Missile Crisis, presidential impeachment, revolution - and rock and roll.

Absolutely Remarkable!!
Revisado: 12-27-14
I listened to this book in earnest. At first I was skeptical based some of the reviews. However I totally enjoyed the book. First the narration was impeccable as the narrator was able to hold you captive and brought each character to life. You felt each emotion that they shared and you wanted to cry or cheer each accomplishment. the author did an excellent job. The intertwine between a historic and a romantic storyline was done carefully and crafted into an interesting listen.
You will be taken through history from the Soviet Union to the Watergate scandal and the downfall of Communism, all through the eyes of the characters. Give the book a lsiten as you will enjoy it for what it is a great book!

Historia
Eric Jerome Dickey's boldly sensual new novel centers on what his fans love best - steamy romance and shocking betrayal. This is an edge-of-your-seat novel about a good man who loves his wife, Genevieve, but finds himself drawn against his best intentions into an affair - with his wife's sister. Both women have a mysterious and tragic past that raises the stakes in this fast-paced novel.

One Word....Beautiful!!!
Revisado: 04-17-14
From chapter one until the end of the book I was totally enthralled. The author has captured every emotion in the characters he presented. The story line well thought of and chronicled to invite an audience to become captivated by the emotions that rack the main characters lives.
A story about hurt, pain fear and the struggle of owning an identity is immensely brought out.
The narrator. I was skeptical at first, as I am with male narrators doing female voices. However Richard Allen was magnificent. He understood what Dickey wanted to tell about the characters and he brought everyone to life. He gave each character an identity and he made their situations real and believable. Even the sex scenes were not raunchy sounding but exciting, stimulating and made you want to listen to his voice for ever.
Definitely one of my top favourites from Audible and truly a must listen!!

Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness... He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me.

A Good Listen!
Revisado: 02-19-14
So the storyline is about Eva and Gideon and the twist and dramas that unfolds in their individual lives and how it allowed them to become entwined with each other. I suppose you could say its similar to Fifty Shades however the author was able to put a twist to it that would keep her listeners captivated. The sex scenes are riveting and raises a few eyebrows as it becomes enthralling. Surely a good listen and I am looking forward to to book 2.
The narration by Redfield was pretty good. I must admit I am truly skeptical of female narrating male voices. But... she was pretty good and very passionate about the characters that she brought them to full life and had you feeling their emotions.
Good first in the trilogy book of Crossfire for Sylvia Day!

We will never know!!!! Some secrets are best kept!
Revisado: 10-31-13
Firstly the narration was absolutely spectacular. Caroline Lee did a wonderful job with the characters and the emotion imparted was unbelievable.
But I hated this book! No seriously it was intriguing. I was beginning to believe it was a beautiful story that would unravel naturally and with a predictable ending. However I was deeply shocked by the unwinding of the story as it had enough suspense to keep you listening. I was so shocked that I cried at one point and just listened in total shock at the climatic turn of events..... An absolute must listen!!!

Interesting Book
Revisado: 09-20-13
So I got the "7 habits of highly effective people". Read it and listen to it. great book So I got this as a followup. I actually wanted this title to assist with a research paper on motivating kids. Great insight and good examples. Like the author says a lot of these principles are practiced in some schools without the teachers realizing the impact of what they are doing!
It truly opens your eyes and I strongly believe that if these principles were in place in our schools we would be producing more leaders.
Good examples on developing leaders in our society today!!

Truly a Must Listen!!
Revisado: 09-20-13
At first I was a bit skeptical about the book. However it was well written as Cardeno really opened the lives of the characters and had you going through the emotional changes that they were experiencing.
Zev's struggle with his family and his feelings for Jonah were captivating and riveting and so was their tying and the subsequent mating between the two.
The narrator, Charlie David was spectacular. He spoke with the emotions expected of any narrator and gave the characters depths. Truly recommended book for the romantic!!

> The Chaperone is a captivating novel about the woman who chaperoned an irreverent Louise Brooks to New York City in 1922, and the summer that would change them both. Only a few years before becoming a famous actress and an icon for her generation, a 15-year-old Louise Brooks leaves Wichita to make it big in New York. Much to her annoyance, she is accompanied by a thirty-six-year-old chaperone who is neither mother nor friend. Cora Carlisle is a complicated but traditional woman with her own reasons for making the trip.

Revisado: 08-25-13
Wow! I listened to this book based on a recommendation I received. Regrets? none what so ever! The narrator was absolutely on point. She added depth to her characters and drew you into their lives with her descriptive narrative skills.
Cora truly captures your heart with her witty, smart personality and her story was riveting. From the heart wrenching dramas of her marriage to the move from Wichita to New York as a chaperone for 15-year-old Louise Brooks, Cora takes you through an unforgettable adventure of her attempt at not only ensuring Louise's safety but finding herself. Through her trip she was able to build her courage in dealing with the dysfunctions of her marriage and standing up to the society ladies within her town.
The end was most touching of all (I cried ) and was drawn by the serenity of the circumstances. Great job and truly recommended!

Revisado: 07-04-13
Actually this book got me hooked on audiobooks! The narrators were excellent and they actually brought the theme to life! Honestly I have not watched the movie the reason being that narrating a book is honestly a bit different from screen play as the movie is for eye appeal so I cannot compare the two. But the plot was well thought out. The storyline executed with passion and precision. You could see the level of research the author placed in getting the material together and the patience spent with each character.
You could visualize the story as each narrator captivated you! Aibileen's friendship with Skeeter captivated you. Minny was intriguing to listen to and had you drawn to her personal struggles. Overall this book was exceptional and I listened to it twice!!!
