This story brings third-person narratives, along with personal perspective/first-person accounts for many events. This is a nice addition to a good overall story arch.
The narration was done very well!
Carver's faithful companion, the war dog Shreck, says that he always wins, "it is just what I do". We'll, This story wins!

Good continuation of the series. The use of the word "keen" is too frequent for my taste. A couple instances of the narrator mixing up his character's voices. Still good though.

Some of the phrasing was unnecessarily wordy. The author also used words that were too complex, words that people do not commonly use. At times, it was a distraction from the story.

The overall story is good. The very beginning is a little bit confusing, but once it comes together, the rest makes more sense. The author uses some weird phrases too repetitively and it is a bit annoying (example: nigh-on). The author did the narration, and I would say that was a mistake.

can't decide if it's the story or the reading

The story is written with a fair amount left for speculation. Several "how" and "why" are hopefully answered later. I had a hard time staying engaged with exactly who some of the characters were, by name.
I prefer narration by artists that try to use different voices and manner of speaking. This narrator is basically just reading the book.

I hadn't heard of Theranos before this. The story is pretty good. It would have been nice to have an explanation of some of the industry terms used repeatedly in this though. Had to look a few up. Too much music mixed in. The music was distracting sometimes. A few times, it is relevant to the story, so I understood those.

Details lost in the theatrics

I feel this would have been better if it was an audio book. At times, there are sound effects that aren't clear as to what is happening. Then, there are times of quiet talk followed by loud sound effects. Makes it hard on the listener.
