Carl Philipp Gottfried von Clausewitz died almost 200 years ago, yet he remains one of the most important and influential of all military thinkers. Few men were more influential on the military tactics and strategy of 19th century warfare than Antoine-Henri Jomini. Why is it that Jomini has been forgotten while Clausewitz’s name is now far more famous than it ever was during his lifetime? One of the reasons is that Clausewitz attempted to develop a philosophy of war that went well beyond the mechanics of combat.

Great overview of who these men are!

Great general overview on who and how Jomini and Clausewitz came into being. This book is not focused on battles as much as how two men on opposite sides of battle evaluated history and military warfare. I really enjoyed this book and it helps to see where they both started and where they ended up, how their personal journeys ultimately shaped their perspectives on war.

This is my favorite Last Kids on Earth book so far!! It is action packed and full of fun and adventure. Is the best book on friendship and character development.

Fascinating and thought provoking

This is one of the most powerful books I have ever read. I see the similarities with our current military, specifically the U.S. Army. While our leaders may not be telling us to take performance enhancers, there is uncanny parallel to the constant push for "readiness" and "lethality" at the expense of taking care of Soliders to achieve "victory."
A truly fascinating story that keeps me wondering if the outcome for WWII would have been different. I bought this book to go on my book case; it is that good.

I FINALLY understand stocks!!

I stopped at Chapter 6

This was painful and not because of the content. I was hoping that this could help me start understanding more about getting into investment, but it was merely impossible to follow a long. The tone and emphasis on certain parts of the sentence make it confusing and at times the narrator read random lists in the middle of the content. A couple times, I was asking myself what was going on. Overall, pretty disappointed. For those that are interested in getting involved in Investments, I recommend reading articles produced on Robin Hood or Baron's magazine, easier to follow and A LOT more consise.
