Comprehensively hit all aspects of the phenomena, the cover up by both public and private sectors, the encounters, experiences, this absolutely is an essential book on the most important subject of our existence. Will easily rank among the top.

I really wanted to enjoy this book, was looking forward to it, but I couldn’t make it through even a few chapters due to narration. The narrator was the wrong choice. No character, inflection, too rigid. The vibe of the book is literally cowboy, yet the narrator is so particular about each syllable he sounds like an AI. The styles don’t align whatsoever, so bad that it’s unlistenable especially for a credit’s worth.

Side-note: the Preview sample for this is some random business book, no idea how they messed that up.

Poor narration and audio quality killed a great book. The audio is bad enough, just flat and tinny, basically unlistenable, but I tried powering through only to find the narrator reads as hastily as possible, as if hurriedly reading aloud IKEA instructions while in traffic, no personality, just terrible. Even further, mispronouncing every proper noun.. names, star systems, common objects, you name it. No research, no effort, just completely lazy. Very unfortunate because the content is good, just hope they read this and have someone redo it.

This is more than just a book, or memoir read by an iconic voice, it will inspire you with a wealth of wisdom from a well-lived life full of adventure and adversity. Mort’s ascension through the ranks of broadcast journalism is merely the route he took that weaves you along a man’s journey soaring through every imaginable peak and valley of life’s trials and tribulations. The internal (and eternal) debates of faith, morals, and ethics against the reality of the world we all live in provide a sobering perspective that is beautifully interspersed with wit, charm, comedy, and tears. Bravo, Mort.

Great accompaniment to follow Sleeping Where I Fall

Peter’s dulcet, golden voice of wisdom narrating his own captivating stories makes for an excellent audiobook. Sleeping Where I Fall is easily one of my favorite books of all time, and The Rainman’s Third Cure perfectly dives deeper past the Hell’s Angels and communes into the soul of his story as a Buddhist, philosopher, and man of great wisdom from an amazing life lived.
