Historia
Each of us was created for something great - we just need to figure out what it is and find the courage to do it. Whether it's writing the next great American novel, starting a business, or joining a band, Rob Bell wants to help us make those dreams become reality. Our path is ours and ours alone to pursue, he reminds us, and in doing so we derive great joy because we are living our passions.

No new ground for Spiritualists
Revisado: 09-09-16
I love Rob Bell, but this book seemed to cover old ground. It didn't have any new revelations in it. No pun intended!

Historia
In the winter of 1953, Boy Novak arrives by chance in a small town in Massachusetts, looking, she believes, for beauty - the opposite of the life she' s left behind in New York. She marries a local widower and becomes stepmother to his winsome daughter, Snow Whitman. A wicked stepmother is a creature Boy never imagined she' d become, but elements of the familiar tale of aesthetic obsession begin to play themselves out when the birth of Boy' s daughter, Bird, who is dark-skinned, exposes the Whitmans as light-skinned African Americans passing for white.

I ripped through this story on one sitting, it is that compelling. Oyeyemi tackles the largest issues of mankind--identity, family, sex, race, society--in a story as rich as it is engaging. Bravo is all I can say!
