A book with a thinkfull ending
Revisado: 01-05-14
Where does The Circle rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It ranks among the first tree for sure. This book give me food for thoughts. I have kids more better teens at home and i see how excellent they use the actual internet and media. The books give you a possible glimps where our society could end.
What did you like best about this story?
The way the story build up. It start with a normal job appliance and friends, admit ably for hype company and end up with dark utopian model of our society. It all starts harmless with some comunity thinking and end up with a totalitarian model where people which do not comply with are not anymore human and mark as distorted. And everthing with the pretence to make a better world and help everyone. This is not very far away form other totalitarian regime like Nazi, fascist and communist or other distorted regimes. If you are into history you easily will see the parallelism in it, also the nazi, fashist and comunist started with the idea of helping and making a better world out of it. And what happend they ended with systematical killing other thinking or presumably deviant poeple or races.
The other discussion which some how is alway part of a totalitarian regime is the wish of knowing everthing about there citizen, and in this book it comes near to possiblitly. Let's be honest been transparent (gläserner Mensch) is that what we are seeking and is this the tradeoff that we really whant to make for more security and safty. Will not our presumably new gained security shown in the book be balanced with some other fear?
Which scene was your favorite?
Where May turns into a full beliver and gets interviewed infront of the audiance. Where here words get used as manifesto for a new society.
Who was the most memorable character of The Circle and why?
May and Any and there turns
Any additional comments?
Excelent book with show a new perspective of our future world. Sometime i miss the duality on the character of the persons but overall i like this book very much.

Historia
Centurion, a no. 1 best-seller, is the unputdownable eighth novel in Simon Scarrow's Eagle's of the Empire series. Perfect for fans of Bernard Cornwell and Conn Iggulden. In the first century AD the Roman Empire faces a new threat from its long-standing enemy Parthia. Parthia is vying with Rome for control of Palmyra, an officially neutral kingdom. Palmyra's royal household is on the brink of open revolt, and so a task force under the command of experienced soldiers Macro and Cato is dispatched to defend its king and guard its borders.

Historia
Cutting a deal with a trickster god rarely goes well for any human brave or foolish enough to try it, but Atticus doesn’t feel like he has a choice. With members of the Norse pantheon out for his blood, he can’t train his apprentice in peace, so he asks Coyote to help him fake his own death. The cost, however, might wind up being every bit as high as if he’d made no deal at all.

Historia
Giacomo Casanova's reputation rests largely on his obsession with women, but he was much more than the great 18th-century lover. Lawyer, mathematician, poet, translator, and librarian who was fluent in several languages, he was described by one contemporary as "the most civilized man in Europe." That he was also a con man, cabalist, spy, revenge-taker, and experienced prisoner only enhances his appeal as one who personified the extreme social and moral contradictions of the time.
