Jennie does a great job to remind the listener that we have a choice on what we choose to think. Hence we must set our minds on the truth that God has revealed to us.
Interested? Read this book, then consider where you put your Bible, if you are not in it already. Let your espoused theology become your lived theology by choosing what you choose to think and believe. You could be 10 minutes away from changing your life.

Appreciate this read for orienting a person to chaplaincy. The agenda/ emphasis to disclose and see how chaplains may address cultural and organizational biases is notable

I appreciate this presentation of Strategic Pastoral Counseling and how it differs from Pastoral Care. Though I may not agree with all the details, the principles of Pastoral Counseling are well established and presented well in this book.

Listening to Tozer’s work is like sitting with one’s grandfather and having a conversation. However in The Crucified Life one hears the why and how Tozer loves God with all his heart, causing him to love God with all his being and embracing the cross daily in response to his love for God.

Many may find this work interesting, and some desire to follow Tozer’s example, but this work is inspirational to consider the cost/benefit ratio of enjoying the world now vs the eternal weight of glory by taking up one’s cross and following Christ.

The Stories Finally Told

Dead bed confessions can be hard due to their brutal honesty and clarity, and disclose stories that went untold.
Fortunately an author convinced a Pacific Theater World War 2 Marine that the stories of their buddies who did not make it needed to be told.
Finally those stories are being composed to memorialize the sacrifices of a global war effort in the modern age, which lessons learned may be applied to find resolutions and alternatives to war.
Nonetheless, the veterans and service men who gave their all is remembered in this written work.
Though a bit flat in its reading, the power of story prevails in this audiobook, and I recommend it.

After finishing Mr. Roger’s biography on my 52nd birthday, I appreciate the subtle but powerful influence Mr. Rogers had on my life to become holistically healthy and caring I am still becoming.

Thank you to the Roger’s family for allowing someone to tell he story of hard work and struggle for him to emulate Kelly Sparks’ Four Rules of Life:
1) Love God with all your heart
2) Love your neighbor as your self.
3) Be your best. Do your best.
4) If you die, your are grounded.
Mr. Rogers was working and caring all the way to the end.

Appreciate the reading of the book by a trusted friendly voice from the PBS family reading another great book with the sensitivity, expression, and apparent admiration. Thank you LeVar Burton for carrying on the torch of children’s education through the television media that Fred Rogers pioneered.

I am genuinely a product of Fred Roger’s influential work in the 1970’s and am part of his legacy. Thank you all who put this book together. I am better for having listened to it.

Very good lessons for those who desire God and His way in their lives.

The Reader was rather flat.
So would have liked to hear the author speak these to hear the tone of humility of a capable man whom God uses.

A profound book that is worthy of listening to yearly.
Well written story that provides structure to elaborate upon the philosophy of quality, which uses Buddhism as its template.

It is about excellence.
Brandon Webb tells his story about being the best one can be and how is life story took him from winning ski races at 6, to becoming a seaman navigating one of the most traveled harbors at the age 16. Me. Webb tells his tale of how he became his best and helped others become their best by consistently being challenged and not accepting "good" as enough.
The stories Brandon tells helped me see that "excellence in all we do" matters and makes a difference in our lives and in the lives we touch.
May we all honor God, humanity, community, and family by becoming the best we can be by doing the best we can do, despite our circumstances and situations.
