Historia
A moving love story displaying all of Austen's signature wit and ironic narrative style. Persuasion is Jane Austen's last completed novel. She began it soon after she had finished Emma, completing it in August 1816.

Nothing to disappoint.

This is perhaps my favorite Jane Austen story. Narrator Mary Sarah brought to my ear a quality of voice and all other attributes that allowed the story to be imagined as I liked.

Historia
The Wizard's Council of Tarador was supposed to tell young Koren Bladewell that he is a wizard. They were supposed to tell everyone that he is not a jinx, that all the bad things that happen around him are because he can't control the power inside him, power he doesn't know about. The people of his village, even his parents, are afraid of him, afraid he is cursed. That he is a dangerous, evil jinx.

Would you listen to Ascendant: Book 1 again? Why?
I have a habit of listening to books I like more than once. I will certainly listen to Ascendant again IF the series holds together.
What did you like best about this story?
At first look, the story seemed too familiar. Poor farm boy gets to the castle and works hard, but mistreated and misunderstood. Yet, slowly he becomes more important to me. Being labeled a jinx without his parent's love in place became his harsh reality. Kids need nurturing or their misgivings and self-analysis become their greatest enemies. For now, Koren's big heart and innocence carry the day. For now. While some things seem obvious, I will read the next in the series to see some "Skippy goodness!" Koren seems to be an INFJ (Advocate) in the 16 personality testing!!! Very rare!
What about Tim Gerard Reynolds’s performance did you like?
Thought it a bit slow after listening to some fast paced SciFi. It did begin on a farm, I remind myself. I loved Tim Gerard Reynold's performance.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Well, unexpectedly, I cried at Koren's note. I was moved because the note was true to his personality type. To be rightly judged was everything to him. To be falsely accused was the worst thing anyone could do to him because his motives were honorable, every time.
Any additional comments?
The various character's hands were sometimes tied very tightly to their duties to move our young hero around the game board. Memories failed, misunderstandings ran wild. Adults were sometimes careless. Koren's gullibleness was hard to take at times, but some kids come like that and trouble follows. Starting Transcendent now.

Amazing grace for all readers to experiene
Revisado: 03-28-16
Story, pace, all elements perfected into a picture of amazing grace that will resonate with most Christian. I cannot think of its equal among current writers in this genre. Recommended for all ages. Blessings to all involved in making the audible available. Not knowing why the author chose to narrate the third book, I missed the superb rendering of the first two books. The author's tones dropped at the end of each sentence, and felt a little tired. Still above average for an audio book. It is a gift and journey within a journey to listen to on long car trips with grandkids. Who is really going to complain about tight quarters and thirst when out heroes are locked in coffins, thrown in dungeons or worse?

Historia
History tends to cast the early years of America in a glow of camaraderie when there were, in fact, many conflicts between the Founding Fathers - none more important than the one between George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Their disagreement centered on the highest, most original public office created by the Constitutional Convention: the presidency. It also involved the nation's foreign policy, the role of merchants and farmers in a republic, and the durability of the union.

I value history for what it teaches, but had not developed a passion as some do. Only when my curiosity led me to wonder about the who and how of my country's birth to blossom ideas for a speculative story I was writing, did I listen closely in awe. Well done on every level.

Loved some, liked some and felt one was a story that could have happened anywhere, anytime with speculative elements tossed in as after thought. Loved OSC Ender extras. Such broad range, I'd recommend it. Something for everyone.
