I spent over 300 hours listening the Safehold series. Each book was 30+ hours at 1.20 speed. It is obvious that author got paid by the number of pages because at least a third of each could have been cut out.
The story line was great making me look forward to next book in the series. BUT, the end of this book and the series left me hanging. The lead up to the end made me except much more. It was like the author got tired of writing the book and just ended it in the simplest way. Everything I read says there is no book 11 coming, very disappointing.

If the superfluous sex scenes and wet dreams the in this book were removed it would only be 1/4 its size. I have read and enjoyed many of the author's books, but the more he writes the more he adds sex scenes that add nothing to the story other than extra pages.
