Historia
Spring, 1909, and Lady Hardcastle, amateur sleuth and all-round eccentric, is enjoying a well-deserved rest. But a week after a trip to the cattle market, Spencer Caradine, a local farmer, turns up dead in the pub, face-down in his beef and mushroom pie. Once again, it is up to Lady Hardcastle and her maid, Florence, to solve the case. Armed with wit and whimsy, not to mention Florence’s mean right hook, the pair set out to discover what really happened and why. Was it poison or just ill luck?

Another Winner!

I love the way the main characters, a lady and her maid, act more like friends and sisters than employer/employee. Their banter is so funny. And the narrator does such a fantastic job! so. many. voices! I had to buy the next book in the series outright, because I didn't think I could wait till I earned another credit!

So good!

Great mystery, lots of humor, excellent performance, no foul language - what could be better? Glad I found this gem! I'll definitely be buying the rest of the series.

Masterpiece!
Revisado: 04-18-20
I can't recommend this book enough! Merrill has painted a masterpiece with his words much like Thomas did on his canvas. This work of art depicts darkness, anger and bitterness that is overcome by the brilliant light, glory and majesty of Jesus Christ. A definite must in any library!!!
