She did it again!
Revisado: 01-30-25
I enjoyed this book sooooooo much. it was over too soon. the only thing I could ask for is more time to read about her practicing her magic and maybe making more mistakes. I was so invested in the characters, the story, and of course I loved the Practical Magic reference!

Cherry Neita is 30, flirty, and done with men. As far as she can tell, they're overrated, overpaid, and underperforming - in every area of life. But a girl has needs, and the smoking-hot stranger she just met at the office seems like the perfect one-night stand.... Prince Ruben of Helgmøre is reckless, dominant, and famously filthy. The outcast royal is rebuilding his reputation - all for a good cause - but he can't resist a pretty face. A

horrible narration, great story
Revisado: 11-17-24
thankfully the story, the characters, and the direction were amazing because the narration almost made me return this book. Ruben has a Danish accent until he's horny and then he sounds like a stereotypical bad Latino accent impression. also he made this man sound like he turned into a werewolf or something. the inflections for both of the characters during intimate situations did not match the mood.
I love this narrator for certain genres, but this ain't it.
love the story though!

So when he returns to his house, devastated and angry, to find his difficult nine-year-old daughter, Avery, unexpectedly home from school, William loses his temper. um...that's how it ends?!?!
Revisado: 09-11-24
OK. she has outdone herself with this one. if you think you know who it is, you don't. this happens multiple times and there's never a dull moment. characters you want to knock some sense into, characters you want to hug, characters whose back stories you want to know more about. and the ending!! I need two more books. 12 years in the future and a backstory of the dead one. Trying not to give anything away.
*As always this narrator leaves us with on-point tone, and believable and dynamic voices.
It was brilliant

Historia
In 1972, when workers in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, were digging the foundations for a new development, the last thing they expected to find was a skeleton at the bottom of a well. Who the skeleton was and how it got there were two of the long-held secrets kept by the residents of Chicken Hill, the dilapidated neighborhood where immigrant Jews and African Americans lived side by side and shared ambitions and sorrows. Chicken Hill was where Moshe and Chona Ludlow lived when Moshe integrated his theater and where Chona ran the Heaven & Earth Grocery Store.

good but not great
Revisado: 02-25-24
dislike: the author repeats things too much. how many times did she need to say shaving cream. this happens all throughout the book. the narrator is not great at doing different voices or switching emotions. liked: the story itself was great, good couple twists at the end.

Historia
Buckhead isn’t a place you live, it’s a place you survive. And that applies even to the wealthy housewives that have it all. Fancy cars, designer clothes, and daily salon appointments aren’t nearly enough to keep them fulfilled and happy. Because in this town, privilege and opulence go hand in hand with betrayal and revenge. Jenny, the owner of Glow, an exclusive membership-only beauty salon, knows that better than anyone, because she knows everything about these housewives—down to each individual strand of hair.
