Historia
The story of the Woodstock Music and Art Fair begins with Michael Lang, a kid out of Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, who liked to smoke a joint and listen to jazz. He would find his way to Florida, open a head shop, and produce his first festival - Miami Pop, featuring Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, and others - then travel to Woodstock, where, after meeting Artie Kornfeld, his vision for a festival where folks could come and stay for a few days amid the rural beauty of upstate New York would become a reality.

Love this book!
Revisado: 03-05-25
It brings you through the whole process and you will feel like you were there at times at at others you’ll feel like your watching the scene from a seat in a helicopter looking down on an ocean of humanity.
It seems like Woodstock was supposed to happen against all odds and I am so very glad that it did happen!
It’s great to learn about the people who made it happen even when it gets ugly. There’s not too much ugly but it’s not all pretty.

I am struggling musician and songwriter Frank Porter and am also originally from upstate New York. So for me this was hitting close to home and I felt I was rooting for a family member almost.
His drive and determination are truly amazing and his attention to details is something I can relate to in my own music career. His talents are many and I believe that even if you aren’t a fan of his music you can appreciate his story.
This book also provides some valuable insight into the business of music. Rest In Peace Mr. Dio. I grieve for Wendy and all of the friends, family, and fans for our loss. I wish I could have attended one of the Dio shows. And I will be checking out every song Ronnie James Dio ever worked on that I can get my hands on!

They were the last great band of the '60s and the first great band of the '70s. They rose, somewhat unpromisingly, from the ashes of the Yardbirds to become one of the biggest-selling rock bands of all time - and eventually paid the price for it, with disaster, drug addiction, and death.

Highly detailed and accurate, you will find yourself in the middle of General Buford's skirmish line as he tries to halt the Confederate advance into Gettysburg, you will feel the anguish and hell of war - of the slaughter that took place in the wheat field. You will live the heroism of Picket’s doomed charge and hear the immortal words that President Lincoln delivered in his consecrating address some four months later. No matter your loyalties, Gettysburg will have your heart pounding with its thunderous action, high adventure and suspense.

Could have been better without the cursing...

Very good for the short version
Revisado: 11-21-19
I am a bit of a civil war expert. In other words I have done a lot of reading about the war and especially the battle of Gettysburg. I enjoyed this dramatization very much and if all the facts were correct I learned at least one quite interesting thing. I am not going to give it away here. I do have one large complaint. No mention of Jeb Stuart or George Custer. During Pickett’s charge Jeb was supposed to meet Pickett at the spot in the Union line Pickett was aiming at and at that time divide and conquer.
General Lee spoke about this very little, but does reference it at least a couple times. So his real plan was quite solid and the main reason it didn’t work is George Armstrong Custer and his men. Their losses were heavy. I would love to have heard that part of the battle included in this production.

What a story!
Revisado: 01-03-19
I have enjoyed every minute of this story. It tells of the lowest of lows and the highest of highs. Of great loving hearts and the most vile of hearts. Dark and Light with so many twists and turns all meaningful and full of lessons for those listeners who can hear the unspoken lessons throughout this story. I found it to be relevant to the times we are living in now. I rarely write reviews and have been an audible listener for about 15 years now and I strongly recommend this audio book.

Couldn’t get past the reader
Revisado: 11-06-18
This may be a good book. The only way I’m going to find out is if I read it myself. Something all of you authors need to know is the reader has to be compelling and interesting. It has to be recorded professionally. I have been listening to audiobooks for decades and I love to listen. I tried on two different occasions to listen to this book and honestly the story was grabbing me but the reader was pushing me off.

KISS and Make-Up is the wild, shocking, unbelievable story, from the man himself, about how an immigrant boy from Israel studied to be a rabbi, was saved by rock and roll, and became one of the most notorious rock stars the world has ever seen.
