Satisfying series conclusion
Revisado: 06-23-24
Excellent completion of the series. Another book might have been squeezed out of the plot but it would have been less satisfying than this conclusion. Balancing Jake’s power level vs his challenges was well done, I did not feel he had plot armor. The characters were believable and actively part of the plot. This is in the top ten best LitRPG series I’ve enjoyed.

Historia
The long-awaited sequel to Jake’s Magical Market is finally here—and now with more market! Well, not quite yet. First, Jake has to survive a perilous trek through time if he ever hopes to return home to his friends, his market, and his former world. The last time we saw our intrepid hero, Jake had barely managed to escape being trapped on a dead version of his own world. Using a combination of his new powers, he threw himself backward through time, back to when the god that trapped him first rose to power.

fun story, good reader
Revisado: 03-25-24
Excellent sequel and reader. Pleased the plot quality remained solid and entertaining all through the book. Short term discomfort at the reader change but the effort to match previous style worked well.

protagonist growing in power not in wisdom
Revisado: 03-19-24
Story is still entertaining. I am finding the protagonists low wisdom and lack of planning yet succeeding in quests increasingly stronger plot armor. He needs much higher luck to believably compensate for his bumbling solutions. The abundance of puns at inappropriate moments gives the feel of parody but not quite succeeding. The reader is adding much needed heart to the story.

graphic porn not for me
Revisado: 10-03-23
Someone's sexual fantasy. The plot was an excuse to setup porn settings. I tried skipping over the porn scenes but ended up skipping most of the book. The reader was perfect for the content.

Excessive telling instead of showing.
Revisado: 07-25-23
Too many words to describe actions. I found myself skipping 10 second intervals repeatedly. Often after skipping 30 seconds of narrative the action had not progress more than a few seconds. In total I must have skipped over 40% of the book in 10 second intervals. I had the same problem with book 1 but gambled book 2 would be better. The plot and characters have much potential but I feel mentally exhausted from slogging through all the exposition in both books 1 and 2. I'm curious where the story will go from here but not enough to continue the series.

Historia
Life’s tough when you’re trapped in an eight-year-old body on another world. His name is Eight. Not really, but that’s what the System decided after a slip of the tongue. One moment, he was stepping out the office door on the way home, and the next waking up on a hillside below a town wall. Oh, and the gate guard drove him off, because he thought Eight was a monster. What’s a boy to do in a world full of magic and so many, many hungry creatures searching for their next meal? Well, there’s an old man inside that body, and he'll use everything he’s learned to survive.

Well written entertainment
Revisado: 11-29-22
I've over indulged in LitRPG so I was not sure this would be a good choice for me. However the synopsis of this book offered to explore a refreshing perspective, so I took the gamble. I really enjoyed the story and glad to have made this purchase. The plot flowed smoothly and believably with no moments of cringe I often find in other LitRPG where some wacky reaction or situation advances the plot. The reader's voice was pleasant and skilled enough to immerse me into the story.

Revisado: 04-08-22
My reviews have become as repetitive as the book. I am enjoying the supporting characters more than the main character. Unfortunately many characters seem to be echos of the main character. I still find myself skipping the massive amount of repetition which seems to be about half of the book. The cringe level has remained about the same as the first book and the reader is still carrying the story. The story arc is holding my interest and hope the completed series will be worth cost of my attention.
