Mark Blake draws on his own interviews with band members as well as the group's friends, road crew, musical contemporaries, former housemates, and university colleagues to produce a riveting history of one of the biggest rock bands of all time. We follow Pink Floyd from the early psychedelic nights at UFO, to the stadium-rock and concept-album zenith of the '70s, to the acrimonious schisms of the late '80s and '90s.

Historia
In July 2011, the oil tanker Brillante Virtuoso was drifting through the treacherous Gulf of Aden when a crew of pirates attacked and set her ablaze in a devastating explosion. But when David Mockett, a maritime surveyor working for Lloyd’s of London, inspected the damaged vessel, he was left with more questions than answers. How had the pirates gotten aboard so easily? And if they wanted to steal the ship and bargain for its return, then why did they destroy it? The questions didn’t add up—and Mockett would never answer them.

Great cop book, and great performance!!
Revisado: 08-07-17
Would you consider the audio edition of The Force to be better than the print version?
What a great story, and I can't say enough about Dion's narration. I was captivated from the start. I told so many people they have to listen to this book. It was my first Winslow book and Dion book, and I'm now going to stock up on their others.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Force?
The last couple of hours were riveting.
Have you listened to any of Dion Graham’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
First time, but definitely not the last.

Historia
One of the 20th century's most challenging novels of ideas, The Fountainhead champions the cause of individualism through the story of a gifted young architect who defies the tyranny of conventional public opinion. The struggle for personal integrity in a world that values conformity above creativity is powerfully illustrated through three characters: Howard Roarke, a genius; Gail Wynand, a newspaper mogul and self-made millionaire; and Dominique Francon, a devastating beauty.

2nd Only to Atlas
Revisado: 10-21-09
I recently discovered Ayn Rand recently, and listened to Atlas Shrugged, and it was the best book I have read or listened to. I read Fountainhead next not expecting it to be anything as good as Atlas, but it was just about as great. It's different but similar, a little quieter but just as thought provoking. Such a range of characters. Is it coincident between the two books, the two main ladies have a name that start with D, and the two main men have the initials HR?

Historia
In a scrap heap within an abandoned factory, the greatest invention in history lies dormant and unused. By what fatal error of judgment has its value gone unrecognized, its brilliant inventor punished rather than rewarded for his efforts? In defense of those greatest of human qualities that have made civilization possible, one man sets out to show what would happen to the world if all the heroes of innovation and industry went on strike.

Incredible Story! Thought Provking!
Revisado: 09-20-09
What an incredible story. Clearly the best book I have listened to, all 63 hours. Such a great story integrated with her philosophies. I couldn't wait to get back to listening to the book. It's hard to believe this was written back in the 50's. It's timeless. It could have been written for today. You can not go wrong by listening to Atlas Shrugged. And of course the bonus is, it narrated by Scott Brick!

Revisado: 06-01-08
What a great story!. I couldn't wait to get back to listening to it. I ususally just listen in my car during my commute, but this time I was listening to it when I got home. Great characters and an excellent 2nd story line(kind of Law&Order like). Just when you think you figured it out, they give another twist. You can't loose with this one. And last but not least, it's Scott Brick doing the reading and he just makes it even better.

Historia
The Torus is the most expensive machine ever created by humankind, run by the world's most powerful supercomputer. It is the brainchild of Nobel Laureate William North Hazelius. Will the Torus divulge the mysteries of the creation of the universe? Or will it, as some predict, suck the earth into a mini black hole? Or is the Torus a Satanic attempt, as a powerful televangelist decries, to challenge God Almighty on the very throne of Heaven? Twelve scientists under the leadership of Hazelius are sent to the remote mountain to turn it on.

Good Story but...
Revisado: 01-30-08
The story is good and intriguing. It's right up there with other good thrillers that are creative with coming up with stories one would never think of.
But, yes there is a but, the reader Scott Sowers has a good voice when he is using his natural voice for the main character, but when he has to put on a different voice for other characters the voice was very annoying. I found many of the voices were either a derative of some one fom Bill & Ted's Excllent adventure, or the voice sounded like Mr. Burns from the Simpsons.
I almost stopped listening early on, but like I said the story is good and I toughed it out, and it was worth while.

What a way to start!
Revisado: 08-31-06
For ewhat ever reason, I chose this book as my first ever audio book. What a way to start. For a guy who loves watching Discovery, this book was kind of like that.
Losts of medical / science talk, but told in away to be very understanding. I was never lost.
The story shared some great insite into historical events, and gives you a very good insider story into today's disease control.
I was never bored, the reader is easy to listen to.
