Historia
In December 2016, the world was shaken by the sudden deaths of Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds, two unspeakable losses. The stunned public turned for solace to Debbie’s only remaining child, Todd Fisher. The son of "America’s Sweethearts" Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, Todd grew up amid the glamorous wealth and pretense of Hollywood. Thanks to his mother, Todd remained down to earth, his own man, but always close to his cherished mom, and to his sister through her meteoric rise to stardom and her struggle with demons that never diminished her humor, talent, or spirit.

Would not recommend this book to anyone. Enjoyed reading it until as most leftist people will do, is bring up Trump. Completely ruined the enjoyment of the book and no, I was not impressed with Carrie Fisher. I guess I’m going to have to be more careful which books I choose from Audible.

Historia
Is Atheism Dead? is an entertaining, impressively wide-ranging, and decidedly provocative answer to that famous 1966 Time cover that itself provocatively asked “Is God Dead?” In a voice that is by turns witty, muscular, and poetic, Metaxas intentionally echoes C. S. Lewis and G. K. Chesterton in cheerfully and logically making his astonishing case, along the way presenting breathtaking - and often withering - new evidence and arguments against the idea of a Creatorless universe.

I would recommend this book to everyone. It validates the perfection of the Divine plan and the beauty of creation. we are now living in a time where the existence of GOD logically cannot be denied.
I can only say to the author thank you for writing this book.

Historia
When they were children in the suburbs of Los Angeles in the 1950s, Diane Keaton and her younger brother, Randy, were best friends and companions: They shared stories at night in their bunk beds; they swam, laughed, dressed up for Halloween. Their mother captured their American-dream childhoods in her diaries, and on camera. But as they grew up, Randy became troubled, then reclusive. By the time he reached adulthood, he was divorced, an alcoholic, a man who couldn't hold on to full-time work - his life a world away from his sister's, and from the rest of their family.

An icon in the movie industry revealing her brothers deep dark secrets all the way to his grave. The frustration of battling between his alcohol dependence and mental illness must’ve been overwhelming. Amazing that she was still able to asend and cultivate a life for herself:This book helps to eradicate the stigma of mental illness. And alcoholism.

Historia
Don and Mimi Galvin seemed to be living the American dream. After World War II, Don's work with the Air Force brought them to Colorado, where their 12 children perfectly spanned the baby boom: the oldest born in 1945, the youngest in 1965. In those years, there was an established script for a family like the Galvins—aspiration, hard work, upward mobility, domestic harmony. But behind the scenes was a different story: psychological breakdown, sudden shocking violence, hidden abuse. By the mid-1970s, six of the 10 Galvin boys, one after another, were diagnosed as schizophrenic.

Interesting nonfiction
Revisado: 04-13-20
This book was quite interesting but very repetitive. What’s the times very difficult to read Because of the devastation of schizophrenia and what it did to that family. The reader was very very good. The story was fascinating.

Historia
Beloved author Elizabeth Gilbert returns to fiction with a unique love story set in the New York City theater world during the 1940s. Told from the perspective of an older woman as she looks back on her youth with both pleasure and regret (but mostly pleasure), City of Girls explores themes of female sexuality and promiscuity, as well as the idiosyncrasies of true love. In 1940, nineteen-year-old Vivian Morris has just been kicked out of Vassar College, owing to her lackluster freshman-year performance.

I personally would not recommend this book to anyone. I only finished it because I paid for it. Truly a modern fiction book. Definitely leaning towards the leftist view of life. Traditional values out the window.

Historia
In The Grass Is Always Greener over the Septic Tank, Bombeck rides the train to the suburbs. In lands like the Suburbian Gems subdivision, settlers from the city brave endless cul-de-sacs and overly helpful insurance salesmen. Picture windows bring new meaning to the term "neighborly". A poorly timed trip to the restroom results in a promotion to Girl Scout Cookie Captain.

This book has to be read by Audible. Spade puts life into his words that he would never get in print. Not a good read for children but great for adults. Glad he didn’t make it political. Loved the Farley voicemail. I am 70 and I still got a kick out of it.

Depression on the increase
Revisado: 02-20-18
Found this book enlightening. Modern treatment not working. Swallowing a pill not enough to solve inner struggles. Agree with his research and theories on how to stop the cycle of depression and anxiety. So sad to hear his political views thrown in and his criticism of president trump.
Believe me, Donald Trump did not start this cycle of depression. Almost stopped reading this book, but continued on ignoring the negative statements about the president.

Historia
From one of the country’s most recognizable journalists: How becoming a grandmother transforms a woman’s life. After four decades as a reporter, Lesley Stahl’s most vivid and transformative experience of her life was not covering the White House, interviewing heads of state, or researching stories at 60 Minutes. It was becoming a grandmother. She was hit with a jolt of joy so intense and unexpected, she wanted to “investigate” it - as though it were a news flash.
