Historia
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. The Fault in Our Stars is insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw. It brilliantly explores the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

A fantastic story and a must read.
Revisado: 06-22-14
We are all touched by cancer, either directly or indirectly, no one escapes this soul destroying disease. This story is wonderful in its approach and helps those of us lucky enough to be healthy understand the journey of the terminally ill. It is not depressing or even overly sad, just real and illuminated. I would recommend to anyone over the age of 13.

For Edda, it is the closest she can come to her dream of being a doctor. For Grace, the hospital is a terrifying place of sickness and mess, while Tufts discovers her hidden talents. For Kitty, it is a way to escape the suffocating love of her mother, who can see nothing beyond Kitty's astonishing beauty.

Loved this story and the characters, informative
Revisado: 02-26-14
Colleen McCullough writes amazing stories and this one is no different. The story is informative as well as interesting and the characters loveable and so real. I drank so much tea during the telling of this tale and felt like I was there with them enjoying a scone to go along with my tea. I even made a batch at one point and ANZAC biscuits. Very Australian and well placed in history. The narrator brought the book to life.

Historia
Elizabeth Gilbert’s first novel in twelve years is an extraordinary story of botany, exploration and desire, spanning across much of the 19th century. This audiobook follows the fortunes of the brilliant Alma Whittaker (daughter of a bold and charismatic botanical explorer) as she comes into her own within the world of plants and science. As Alma’s careful studies of moss take her deeper into the mysteries of evolution, the man she loves draws her in the opposite direction into the realm of the spiritual, the divine and the magical.

Great story that unfolds over a century of family.
Revisado: 02-26-14
This story was so unlike anything else Elizabeth Gilbert has written and although I enjoyed her previous work i just loved this story and look forward to listening to it all over again. Great plot development, interesting subject matter and very well narrated. This is my kind of story. I am sorry I can't think of anything to write about the story that wouldn't be 3 pages long and give too much away. It is a family history drama with a botanist's love of plants as the underlying theme. If you listen to the preview you will know if the story is meant for you. If you are expecting something along the lines of Eat, Pray, Love, you will be disappointed.

Very different but surprisingly good.
Revisado: 02-26-14
I purchased this book because of the reviews I read and was glad I did. Not often you find a different tale such as Jasper Jones, and one that keeps you interested all the way through to the last page. You are instantly attached to the characters and become invested in their lives and their story. I wanted to adopt Jasper Jones and give him a good home but alas his adventure was to lead him on a different path. Sometimes sad, often funny and always moving forward towards the conclusion. Excellent story, well read.

Revisado: 11-04-13
Ever read a book and at the end don't know whether you enjoyed it or not. This book hooked me from the very start and while it was definitely different and I thoroughly enjoyed the change. Not for everyone, I would listen to the sample and read other reviews as I like strange and different. It also helped me understand the world of Asperger's affected people which is a real bonus.

Historia
With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends. Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits. Iona arrives in Ireland with nothing but her Nan’s directions, an unfailingly optimistic attitude, and an innate talent with horses.

More of the same
Revisado: 11-04-13
While I love Nora Roberts and the magical theme I feel that this storyline is just the same as all the others. The Three Sisters Trilogy was the best and it is hard to improve on the best. I think Nora needs to dig deeper and use more imagination. While the story is well written and well read it is very predictable. Its definitely time for a change.

Laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching, Beth Hoffman's sparkling debut is, as Kristin Hannah says, "packed full of Southern charm, strong women, wacky humor, and good old-fashioned heart." It is a novel that explores the indomitable strengths of female friendship and gives us the story of a young girl who loses one mother and finds many others.

Although the story begins a little sad and desperate for poor Ceecee, the future looks bright and her dreams will be realised. I love southern women and their hospitality, plus their warm, generous hearts. I true delight to read and listen too.

Historia
A middle-aged man returns to his childhood home to attend a funeral. He is drawn to the farm at the end of the road, where, when he was seven, he encountered a most remarkable girl, Lettie Hempstock. Forty years earlier, a man committed suicide in a stolen car at this farm at the end of the road. Like a fuse on a firework, his death lit a touchpaper and resonated in unimaginable ways. The darkness was unleashed, something scary and thoroughly incomprehensible to a little boy. And Lettie - magical, comforting, wise beyond her years - promised to protect him, no matter what.

Neil Gaiman's stories are always good and I enjoyed The Ocean at the End of the Lane, and felt connected to the characters but have enjoy other books of his more. I felt the story was missing something. I did enjoy listening to it, especially as Neil Gaiman narrated it and it was well worth the time and money it just wasn't his best.

Entertaining and delightful
Revisado: 07-12-13
This is a funny, light-hearted tale with wonderful characters and a great story. It has its sad moments and its heart warming ones as well. I didn't want it to end. I purchased this book for my daughter and everyday we looked forward to reading a new chapter. As soon as it was available on audiobook I just had to own it and the narrator did a wonderful job. This is a story for all ages and leaves you with a smile on your face and a new respect for Charles Dickens.

Historia
Meet Harold Fry, recently retired. He lives in a small English village with his wife, Maureen, who seems irritated by almost everything he does, even down to how he butters his toast. Little differentiates one day from the next. Then one morning the mail arrives, and within the stack of quotidian minutiae is a letter addressed to Harold in a shaky scrawl from a woman he hasn’t seen or heard from in twenty years. Queenie Hennessy is in hospice and is writing to say goodbye.

Revisado: 03-11-13
In this wonderful tale your emotions will by tested to their full range. Funny, sad, insightful and best of all honest. The narrator takes you on the journey with Harold and you feel evrything he is going through with empathy and love for the man. I had a crazy week but found time everyday to find out what Harold was up to and it made my week bearable.
Thank you Racheal, Jim and Harold you enriched my life with your story.
