Historia
Verity Jane, gifted app whisperer, takes a job as the beta tester for a new product: a digital assistant, accessed through a pair of ordinary-looking glasses. "Eunice", the disarmingly human AI in the glasses, manifests a face, a fragmentary past, and a canny grasp of combat strategy. Realizing that her cryptic new employers don’t yet know how powerful and valuable Eunice is, Verity instinctively decides that it’s best they don’t.

Historia
Where Flynne and her brother, Burton, live, jobs outside the drug business are rare. Fortunately, Burton has his veteran's benefits, for neural damage he suffered from implants during his time in the USMC's elite Haptic Recon force. Then one night Burton has to go out, but there's a job he's supposed to do - a job Flynne didn't know he had. Beta-testing part of a new game, he tells her.

Human carbon emissions cause the apocalypse
Revisado: 01-02-23
The narrator does an amazing job
The future is a communist dystopia caused primarily by people who were "waiting on the second coming" that refused to make the necessary sacrifices that could have got mankind's carbon output under control. The climax hinges on the actions of magical nanobots that seem to blatantly violate the laws of thermodynamics. It's clear that these nanobots are the world's most powerful weapon, but it's not clear who controls them or how.

Historia
On screen, Danny Trejo the actor is a baddie who has been killed at least a hundred times. He’s been shot, stabbed, hanged, chopped up, squished by an elevator, and once, was even melted into a bloody goo. Off screen, he’s a hero beloved by recovery communities and obsessed fans alike. But the real Danny Trejo is much more complicated than the legend.

Historia
In 1912, scientist Marie Curie spent two months on the British seaside at the home of Hertha Ayrton, an accomplished mathematician, inventor, and suffragette. At the time, Curie was in the throes of a scandal in France over her affair with Paul Langevin, which threatened to overshadow the accomplishment of her second Nobel Prize. Performed by Kate Mulgrew and Francesca Faridany at the Minetta Lane Theatre, this play by Lauren Gunderson is an ode to two remarkable women.

Great Job. I was under the fallacious impression that I knew all about Marie Curie until I read this. Quite interesting and well done!

Historia
After the success of the first edition of Learn by Reading, we decided to bring you the second volume. This book uses the second volume in the Sorcery Code series as the underlying text. If you haven't heard volume one, we recommend you start there. Though you could still get the educational benefits by starting from this volume, you will be missing critical information required for enjoyment of the story - and, in our opinion, enjoyment is critical to the learning process.

We have long attributed man's violent, aggressive, competitive nature to his animal ancestry. But what if we are just as given to cooperation, empathy, and morality by virtue of our genes? What if our behavior actually makes us apes? What kind of apes are we?

Revisado: 08-15-18
This book contains a lot of interesting information that relates primative ape behaviors to our own. Basically, liberals evolved from Bonobos, and conservatives evolved from Chimpanzees. All kidding aside, I enjoyed the book.

Historia
In Other Minds, Peter Godfrey-Smith, a distinguished philosopher of science and a skilled scuba diver, tells a bold new story of how subjective experience crept into being—how nature became aware of itself. As Godfrey-Smith stresses, it is a story that largely occurs in the ocean, where animals first appeared.
