I heard an NPR interview about this book and it was incredibly interesting. I knew nothing of this league but was pulled in immediately. I was surprised how many of the coaches and players I had heard of before and continued to be surprised as the outlandish stories kept coming in. Such a great voice performance and story, I listened to the whole thing in a few days straight. If you like football in any capacity I think you will enjoy this book.

Not really a fan of his acting body of work but other reviews convinced me to give it a try and I’m glad I did. I listen to a lot of fiction and decided it was time for some humor. Definitely worth your time and audible credits to check out. His observational generational humor was really funny and I listened to the whole book in a few days. Nicely done sir!

My friend warned me it's a slow start. Wait until the inn keeper and the chronicler meet, if you stop listening before that you would have missed a great story. Patience is a virtue after all.
