Historia
The stories were all wrong—Hook was never the villain. For two centuries, all of the Darling women have disappeared on their 18th birthday. Sometimes they’re gone for only a day, some a week or a month. But they always return broken. Now, on the afternoon of my 18th birthday, my mother is running around the house making sure all the windows are barred and the doors locked. But it’s pointless. Because when night falls, he comes for me. And this time, the Never King and the Lost Boys aren’t willing to let me go.

Be aware this is Erotica
Revisado: 07-29-22
Wish I knew when I purchased this that other reviewers meant “spicy” as graphic erotica. I don’t have a problem with that per se, but this wasn’t really what I was looking for in this book. The overall story was actually very good and would very much like to continue the storyline, but probably won’t just because the erotic aspect of this was such a turn off. The main character constantly calls herself a dirty whore and fully embraces that as her character type, I wish that she valued herself more. Be aware that this book depicts graphic scenes of group sex, rough sex, and abuse.

Historia
College professor Stephen Barlow needs cash. Badly. He puts his skepticism aside and signs on to a paranormal research organization in the hopes of scoring a fat bonus. Enter Chaythe Asylum: a long-shuttered and controversial institution where patients were allegedly subjected to unethical experiments. Stephen deems the old building, closed in 1989 after a series of grisly murders, as good a place as any to explore the possibility of the supernatural, and arranges to take a tour with his students. But it turns out that the asylum is not as abandoned as it seems. There is something sinister in the building.

Predictable but entertaining. I thought it was worth the listen and will probably pick up the rest of the series if they’re on sale.

Loving this series and looking forward to the next. I LOVE Luke Daniels as a narrator and the fact that they included his bloopers at the end of this was priceless! Thank you for those gems and please keep doing that!!

Revisado: 02-06-21
I am so glad that I decided to purchase this book! It was a wonderfully delightful story that will now be included with my favorite classics such as C. S. Lewis’ Narnia series. The story is full of fun and humor as you follow the misadventures of four children and a magic ring. The Narrator is also particularly good and did a perfectly wonderful job telling the story.

Historia
Everybody loves Ian Ludlow’s action novels—especially the CIA—because the spies know something the public doesn’t: His fictional plots have a frightening tendency to come true. Ian is in Hong Kong with his resourceful assistant Margo French to research his wildest story yet—a deadly global conspiracy by Chinese intelligence to topple the United States. What Ian doesn’t know is that his horrifying scenario is happening and that the Chinese mistakenly believe he’s an undercover superspy assigned to foil their scheme.

Decent story, bad narrator
Revisado: 01-30-21
I really wanted to like this book and series, but Adam Verner’s narration became an unbearable irritation midway through this book and was painful to finish. The majority of the dialogue for almost every character is said in a sing-song whine. Margo in particular is narrated in this fashion for absolutely every line and sounds just like Nathan Lane’s whining laments from The Birdcage movie...good for Nathan Lane, awful for Margo. The narrator alone ruined the book for me.

So disappointing!
Revisado: 01-17-21
I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing this book...unfortunately, since I was enjoying the series so much, I bought all the books without a second thought. This is NOT the Fox and OHare that we fell in love with in previous books. I have no idea why Evanovich decided to rework the characters in such a drastic way, but it was a huge mistake. There is absolutely no continuity from previous novels and is almost like every previous book in the series never existed. There is no mention of their previous heists or work together, no great con for the plot, no witty and intelligent banter, and no mention of any of the other team members...although that may be a small blessing since Nick, Kate, and Jake were so poorly rewritten. Nick and Kate’s relationship from previous books was completely erased. Nick went from being a clever, witty con man and is now a flirty handsome guy who resorts to cheap distractions and stupid aliases (i.e. mimes, flash mobs, and “Nick Knackey”). Kate was an intelligent FBI agent who was torn between her love of the job and the growing love for a con to bring justice to a truly evil person.....now she’s just a grumpy agent with no control over her operations and constantly exasperated by those around her. Kate and Jake seem to no longer share the father/daughter love of weapons and explosive military ops. And finally, the whole plot of the book was substandard. I’m so sorry to see these characters change in this way. This was a series I LOVED and I feel betrayed that Evanovich would do this to the characters. The way this book was written, I believe that Lee Goldberg may have actually been responsible for the bulk of the writing in the prior books and Evanovich may not have ever actually read the books in their entirety. This story feels like someone wrote the next installment of the series based only on the knowledge gained from jacket summary of previous books.

Historia
Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place. Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries. The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes.

Not really needed to continue Kingkiller saga
Revisado: 01-16-20
This short story centers solely on Auri and spending a little time in her day and life. While featuring a character that is in the series, this book is NOT continuing the Kingkiller chronicle storyline in any way, much in the same way that the previous short story about Bast was not integral to the saga. Unfortunately Audi’s story was nowhere near as entertaining as the one about Bast and can understandably be frustrating for most readers.
This story follows Auri over a span of several days as she travels through the Underneath and makes her preparations for her next visit with “Him”. While learning that Auri is very OCD about her belongings and habits, there is no explanation or background given to why she chooses this life or what has led her to this. This book is simply 3+ hours of Auri finding objects, moving them around in various places to try to find where each is happy, and trying to find the proper gifts for her upcoming visit.
While I didn’t hate this story or regret the purchase, I also did not enjoy it. About half way through I sped up the recording to 1.75 to try and get through it faster and by the end regretted that I really didn’t feel like I knew Auri much better than I had at the beginning. I wish we had been given a little more of her history or reasoning behind her actions but she is still just as much a mystery as before. This book won’t stop me from purchasing any additional short story books from this author, but I do hope that this is the last of this style.

Surprisingly awesome!
Revisado: 10-13-19
I’m so glad I decided to take a chance on this one. A genuinely good story that was made amazing by the addition of the music! The story is geared for the younger listeners with characters that are entering the 7th grade of their magic school, but is enjoyable for all ages. This reminded me a bit of the Harry Potter series and The School For Good and Evil series. I hope the author and Audible continue this storyline as a series and keep the musical additions, I guarantee I will buy it!

Newly discharged from the Marines after World War II, Scotty Bowers arrived in Hollywood in 1946. He began sleeping with some himself, and connecting others with his coterie of young, attractive, and sexually free-spirited friends.

Should have known better....
Revisado: 03-14-19
As the title would imply, this is a no holds look into the sexual lives of the classic Hollywood stars. Unfortunately that’s about all this is. I was looking for something that was going to be a little more anecdotal about the true lives of the celebrities involved. This is an in depth memoir into the sexual preferences and perversions that the author helped facilitate and little else. Also included is a lengthy telling of the authors own sexual experiences at the hands of adults when he was still a child and his fond memories of those experiences. It’s uncomfortable and sad to hear how fondly he looks back on those encounters, not considering himself a victim. While mildly interesting to learn a little something new about Hollywood history, I would have preferred more stories about the people who let very few see the real people that they were and less about the detailed ways in which sexual acts were performed for them.

Revisado: 04-29-18
This is a perfectly delightful little story to share with kids, friends, and family. I bought both versions of the book (print & audible) so that I could enjoy the actors voices along with the beautiful illustrations. This book delivers an important message to celebrate and embrace the differences that we ALL have, which makes us unique and special. Thank you to everyone who participated in the production of this book, both written and audible!
