This book is freaking amazing
Revisado: 10-14-23
I only have a couple hours left but my goodness. I’m astounded by this one. I love every single word written by Milena (and spoken by Abby ofc) but this book. Wow. It’s amazing, I couldn’t wait to finish to review it. If you have read any of milenas book, you know what is coming, but this is the best one out of the 4. And I thought her first book was my endgame.
I waited forever for the audiobook, many times I wanted to just read the book but waiting for Abby to narrate it was worth it. Her best yet. Jesus this book is awesome.
If this is your first Melina book, read the other 3 asap.

This is an amazing series. Happy to hear it finally.
Revisado: 09-23-23
This is book 1 of 3. I’ve read this and it’s twin and my goodness. It caused me to follow the author instantly and I had to tell her what a huge fan I am. She’s very responsive and gracious and I’m so happy for her.
I have read and listened to many many LesFics and this series is up there with my favorites. It’s extremely well written, tense, dramatic, romantic, beautiful, infuriating and very interesting. I love Catherine so much and hope she gets her happy ending.
I was beyond excited to hear that Abby was going to read this series. What a coup for Ms. Lyon, Abby is the best and most consistent narrator in the game and she did amazing work with this book.
Don’t hesitate, get this book!
The second one is out on print and it is incredible.

Revisado: 09-03-23
I recently got into lesbian fantasy books, and man I’ve been missing out. This book was thoroughly entertaining, and enjoyable. The love story is EXTREMELY unique and super cute. I found myself loving Ayonda and wanting more of her, as in I wish we got her POV. Maybe one day we will get a book from her POV. That would be so awesome.
Spoiler alert!!!!!
The intimate scenes were….interesting lol. It all works tho. The book was fun as heck. I’ll def be checking out the rest of the series.

Finally took the plunge. Pretty entertaining book.
Revisado: 09-02-23
I’ve had this is my wishlist for a while. I love Abby Craden but I don’t really mess with fantasy romance. It’s just that genre that I avoid. Well a couple of my favorite authors (Milena McKay and Lee Winter to be specific) are taking a long while to release their new audiobooks I’ve had to branch out. I have a 30 minute commute twice a day so I always need a story to get lost in. So I picked this one because Abby, and the 20 hour run time.
I liked this book a lot more than I thought I would. I was finally ready to add lesbian fantasy romance to one of my favorite genres. The first book I read in this category was Reaping the Benefits by EJ Noyes, and if I could hug EJ i would for opening up my imagination. This book was a perfect book for fantasy skeptics like myself. Lots of world building, a mix of fantasy and real world stuff. Mentions of Canada, America etc.
HUGE spoilers below.
Pros: fun, multi sex scenes, healthy conversations, ie not holding stuff in unit they break up over misconceptions and miscommunication. Happy ending.
Cons: The last 1/3 of the book straight draggggggged on. The human village part was really unnecessary. In fact I hated that whole section. Seriously, the way Evie acted, good lord. It was like a different character completely. I just still don’t understand the point of the visit to the humans. It adds nothing of value or significance to the story. Just plain odd. I’m still baffled. I know for sure I’ll be skipping the whole thing in re-reads.
The denouement was a bit predictable and overly long yet too short. Believe me, that will make sense. I honestly love the book until the two MCs get to the human village. Everything after that is boring, cheesy, overly dramatic, sometimes too dramatic and oh so predictable. The author really should have cut out certain sections and added some more substance in other sections.

It was closure. Kinda boring.
Revisado: 07-04-23
I’ve read prob 80% of Gerri Hills catalog. She was like my first introduction into lesfic. Her and Melissa Brayden. I don’t really read either authors anymore as my tastes have become more specific and my standards are way too high for books (thanks Lee winter, EJ, and Milena McKay lol). When I saw this book was coming I was stoked. Hunters Way is prob in my top ten of favorite books ever. I listen to it once a year at least. It was nice to finally have closure on who killed the Hunter family. I knew who it was from the beginning and I knew who it was before picking up the book but not necessarily the how and why.
Just a warning to people looking for a lesbian romance novel. This ain’t that. There’s no sex, very little romance and it’s almost 90% from torri POV investigating the case. She’s also away from her girls (Sam Casey and andrea) more than half the book.
All in all it was interesting if not a tad boring.

DNF, I returned this after a couple chapters.
Revisado: 12-10-22
Going into this I didn’t really mind the adultery, as long it’s handled delicately and ya. That’s not why I returned this title almost immediately after starting.
Look I usually love Bliss, and Abby Craden but this book opened with the two leads sounding like high schoolers. I felt like I was reading a YA novel. The internal dialogue, and spoken dialogue was off. Very cheesy. And Abby was speaking so fast it sounded like teenagers. No thanks. The dialogue was very weak, and as soon as one of the characters (Stella I think) started talking about the other characters hair , and how hot it was, and soft I was done. I just knew then that I wouldn’t like this book. So good luck y’all.

Awful, awful story.
Revisado: 04-08-22
The reviews weren’t great but I really really wish someone would have told it like it is.
Spoilers: This book is bad. I enjoyed the first one but this one fell absolutely flat. Ryan was so boring. I just wasn’t invested in the couple. They broke up before they even started. Then bam Ryan loves her, but wait. Madison becomes the conflict. Madison, her supposed to be best friend decides she still loves Gabs. Unbelievable. Then Ryan gets spooked by falling in love/gabrila and Madison. And oh ya gabrilas family That lives on the other side of the country says that Madison is the one for her. THEY WERE ONLY TOGETHER 4 MONTHS. Melissa Brayden, I’m disappointed. This story was completely contrived, filler, drama filled, juvenile and borderline unreadable. And I’m supposed to buy the 3rd book about Madison? The villain from this book? Really poor storytelling.

She’s always had secret ideas about how to make the place shine, so when it passes to her, Joey vows to make Tangle Valley everything she knows it can be. Her biggest obstacle? Absolutely Enjoyable.
Revisado: 04-06-22
I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I’ve read like 75% of Melissa Brayden’s books. I loved the original 4? Especially the Soho books. I haven’t enjoyed a single Melissa Sternenburg narration. I especially disliked the seven shore’s series. It didn’t do it for me and the subsequent MB/MS audiobooks so I gave up after Beautiful dreamer. Her voice is just too fast and not enough variety person to person.
My queue for books to read sat empty for a bit and I was desperate for a new series to read. My job almost demands a good audiobook. I finally decided on this one due to the reviews. This one started like the rest and I almost gave up on a seemingly good world building series opener. I decided to slow down the speed of the playback and bam, got into it.
This was a typical Brayden book. Y’all know what I mean, improbable pairing, hot and adorable romance, and an inevitable, unnecessary breakup. This one was fun though. I liked the characters and the journey and I found myself remembering why I loved Melissa Brayden’s stories, I am a romantic at heart. Her books are adorable and relatable if you have ever been in love. The main characters love interest is always dream woman. Jess from the soho series being my favorite being threatened by the amazing Becca. She was awesome. I am looking forward to the next two books in the series.
To sum it up, MBs books are like a warm blanket/happiness/a friend when it’s freezing, you’re sad, or lonely. Leaves you wanting to fall in love again…
