What made the experience of listening to Mr. Mercedes the most enjoyable?
Will Patton's narration! It's absolutely brilliant! I never find myself listening to someone reading a book.....it's more like a movie playing in my head. The writing, of course, is also great....but Will really brings it to LIFE in my head!
What did you like best about this story?
It started off a little slow, but I was hooked after the second chapter. The characters are believable and there are some nice twists. I fully see this being adapted to the big screen one day. And I would go see it for sure!!
What does Will Patton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Will Patton's narration is absolutely brilliant!! It never sounds like someone reading a book out loud.....it's more like a movie playing in my head. Will's different voices are all believable, even the female voices. He pauses in all the right places and his tone is never 'off'. I will be looking for more of Will's narrations.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I found myself smiling along with the chacters and asking questions out loud as new snippets of the story unfolded.
Any additional comments?
I will be searching for more of Will's narrations. I wish he had more than just two of Stephen King's novels. Also, I usually only listen to audio books on my 5-hour drives to the big city.....but I found myself wanting to 'finish the book' before my next commute!
