Nothing new here, hard to listen

Most of this audio book is just reading directly from the Book of Mormon, and occasionally the author will give a quote or observation that is pretty standard fare. If you were raised LDS you have likely heard (or will eventually hear) all these observations at one time or another. This would have been fine, if that's what you are looking for, except that the recording is not great and only accentuates the tired and gravely voice of the author, who doesn't really seem interested in what he is doing.

If you've never heard the Bible story ever, this would be fascinating maybe. The production is fine, though. It would be great for a teen or a new Christian convert.

True story, real people, great ending

This wouldn't usually be a title I'd pick because I'm not a history buff and I'm even less interested in war related stories. I went for something different and I wasn't disappointed at all. This is a story about real humans and their struggle to make sense of the cards life dealt, as they rally together to bring home the remains of a soldier most of them didn't even know. The part I enjoyed the most was hearing their voices as they explain how they are related to the story, and hearing their joy and anguish (and everything in between) in their own words.

What my professors failed to teach

This book covers nearly all of the errors common in casual biblical interpretation presented in a completely attainable way. I wish I had read this when I was in seminary. Excellent book. I'm going to listen to it again and again.
